Are you happy with the choice that you made ?

Which Manufacturer did you choose and what diagonal length did you decide upon ?

Thanks ~

I've still use a standard TV from the 90's. What can I say? I'm poor and have bills: a bad combination.

The tv in my room is a Sony 32inch LCD. I only have regular cable channels so the only time it uses HD is for gaming (which I think is worth it)

Same here, although I was looking at them today hoping that I could possibly get one on the cheap because of some "after Christmas sale".No luck.

I've heard that plasma tv's will use more electricity than any other thing in your house and they get fucked up if they are exposed to cold temperatures(not like you are gonna be watching it on your patio in the middle of winter, but I'm just sayin').

LCDs were pretty shitty a few years ago, when you have to sit directly in front of then to even see an image on the screen, but they are just as good as plasmas now, imo.

I think I'll wait until the 42" ones(not talking about some shitty brand either)to come down to around the $600-$800 range before I think again about buying one.Until then,I'll stick with the 28" Toshiba that I already have.

I decided on a sony bravia 40" LCD 1080p.

I looked at internet reviews and trusted magazines like 'What Hifi and Tv' and 'Stuff' etc the tv always makes the top 3 and mostly gets the number one spot or at least at the time of purchase it did. I have no complaints at all.

lcd - plasma fucks up when it tilts plus you have to watch it head on otherwise to cant appreciate the full picture if you're watching it at a slight angle

That's totally not true at all.Like I said before, the older LCDs from a couple of years ago were like that, and that was probably the number one complaint about them,so they rightfully fixed that problem.

I have never seen(and I've seen a lot of them) nor heard anything about plasmas having that same problem.

Where did you get that info from?

LCD (it was given to me as a prezzie from my brother earlier this year)...

Samsung 37inch LCD.

Plasma fucks up a lot, especially with gaming when it can burn the screen.

I'm extremely happy with my TV, it's the only possesion I love.

Samsung 32" 720p LCD: Bought it a few days after Thanksgiving this year and I absolutely love it. Crystal clear. Bright picture. Great contrast. Good selection of inputs (composite, component, and 2 HDMI's). Strong onboard speakers (2 x 10W, rather than 2 x 5W that a lot of low end TV's have). No regrets at all.

I went with LCD mainly off of reputation. Plasmas have a reputation for a shorter life expectancy than LCD. TV life spans are usually judged based on the number of hours it takes for the TV to lose half its original brightness. If I remember the numbers correctly, the averages are:

Plasma: 10k-20k hours
LCD: 30k-50k hours
CRT: 50k-80k hours

When you factor in that most TV's have had a electronic component failure by the time they reach 50k hours, most LCD's and CRT's will stay reasonably bright for their entire lifespan. In contrast, many plasmas will be considerably dimmer long before the TV would be otherwise dead.

lcd has all but beaten plasma to a shitty death, most manufacturers are spending all their r+d on LCD now as it is the better technology. Ive never seen a good plasma tv yet.

Got a 42" Vizio LCD. Hey its a pretty good product for the price. Its got all the HD shit in there, 1080p and whatnot. And the first I had was a 40" Akai plasma, which wasnt bad, but im not really a fan of plasmas.
