Labs are known to be good natured animals. I love big dogs and would take one any day over a little kick dog (chihuahua or poodle)...never found what their purpose is unless you are 90 years old and are looking for a companion to sit on your lap.

The only dog I truly 'despise' is the pitbull as I have been attacked several times when walking my dog in the neigborhood. I don't know what people see in them

My dogs are good natured animals. Very gentle.

Although they are big dogs.

I was never one of those guys that felt the need to own intimidating dogs like Dobermans or Rottweilers that would carry the owner's balls around for them.

OK...I know I post some crazy stuff...but I am into knowing more about the GREAT people on FreeOnes.

I am a lover of dogs and fish...dogs have always been my best friend and fish are just interesting to watch how they interact and survive in a liquid environment...

So...here's my poll...and please explain why you like the pet you do.

Cheers,

Sparky
*"All Creatures Great and Small'' if I had my way, Sparky, and I agree, aquarium fish really provide a nice relaxing ambiance in the home. My pal used to have a 120 gallon tank with this so called "Black Ariwana" or some such :dunno: fish and the thing got so big and feisty (last I remembered the thing was about 18 -20 inches in length) that it would physically attack you if you were to round the corner into his kitchen too closely. On more than three occasions the fish got out of the tank, once, apparently minutes before said friend arrived at home to find the fish out of the tank and fluttering on his carpet floor ! Yes it survived quite nicely after all of the excitement.

I never followed up on what Russ did with that fish. :dunno:

I bet you that whatever it was, it's a variety from South America as in Pirana territory water... The thing had razor sharp teeth too !
Anyway, sorry for getting carried away on the very matter factly "fish story"

To the point : Growing up, my parents had about an acre and a 1/4 of land which provided a great atmosphere for our German Sheps and a Golden Retriever had both cats and dogs among about a half a dozen other different animal species, however today, I only have two cats because I reside in a townhome, one is free to come and go as it chooses, he's the long and slender one we call "Lank" or "Lanky" his real name...

I don't want to bore you any further, CATS, final answer . :o

I had a Neopolitan Mastiff named Maggie, but she passed away a few years ago, so lo and behold, I get two dogs to replace her. A St. Bernard named Josie, and a golden retriever named Milo. I've also owned a rat, two cats, a chinchilla, and a tarantula at some time in the past.

I've heard of sneaky but evil??? What are they doing??

The smaller wild one keeps turning off my fiance's CPAP machine at night. The fat one is trying to break my ribs by jumping on me everytime I go to bed.

Nice

Lost our Dog last year. But we plan on getting a Samoyed by this summer. Shopping rescues and breeders right now.

My Siberian Husky named Ollie but I call him Oliver or olliepuppy. Sadly, he's ten and has a few tumors. :(

I got into high-level Dobermans in the late 70s and early 80s, had a continuous bloodline for over 15 years; big beautiful sweet dogs, protect their friends and family but made more Dobie lovers outa dog fearing Moms than any other dogs I ever saw...they loved children and watched out for them, never growled at a child no matter how much pain the kids put them through.
My last one, grandson of my first, was 98 lbs of Fawn Dobie, and never got mad at anything...his Uncle was my best bud for 8 years, a Blue male who never got excited.
Saved my ass a few times...just by looking right at someone quietly til they moved away...or I called him off.:D
Always had a Siamese cat around to keep the Dobies in line...worked great.
Now, many years and an ex later, I live in a 1 bedroom apt with 8 aquariums and my kid's Russian Dwarf hamster (Twinkie).
I only have a couple of small tanks, the rest line the walls and bubble away...peaceful sounds.
I am finally getting where I am breeding my own line of Lyretail Sailfin Mollies, some of my recent ones are outstanding.
I do miss having Dobies and cats...
