Open toed shoes are women's wear. Now cover up those fritos-looking toenails and just wear a thong instead cause I don't have to see that
I need to organize a coalition of heavy people wearing golf cleats in public to take care of this

Why yes I am old.....
stay tuned for my rant about those damn kids on my lawn

I am increasingly on the verge of a meltdown because of the freaking psychos driving around my city roads. It's really getting to the point I think I might fucking lose it and tool around with my buddy's Remmington some afternoon waiting for a fit of road rage to take over me. Now I know why my cousin in the middle of nowhere pays close to shit for his insurance as I get hammered by Progressive even though I haven't had a ticket in at least like eight years. :(

Getting less *anything* than you paid for!

Just bought a 1TB HDD....but it only has 931Gb on it!!!! I'm ok if I only get 1000Gb instead of 1024Gb...

But 931?!?!?!?! That's almost 100Gb less than I paid for!!!!! :wtf: :violent: :ban2:

Do you know how much more porn I could download and save?!?!?!?! Almost 100Gb!!! That's I don't know....100 or 200 more videos!!!! Are you kidding me?!?! :crash: :ak47:

That is actually because the hard drive manufacturers use the standard SI units for actual drive capacity numbers. That is, the actual size of a 1 TB drive is 1000^4 bytes instead of 1024^4 bytes. It's not limited to just the first four figures of the drive capacity (that is, being actually a 1000 GB drive instead of a 1024 GB drive), it goes all the way to the first byte.

In my eyes at least, this is one of the biggest and most prevalent misconceptions there has ever been in the area of computer science. I used to think this way too for a long time and then finally caught on to having been absolutely wrong. I used to think "what the fuck, hard drive manfacturers, learn to use the right units when making drives, a kilobyte means 1024 bytes and not 1000 bytes as you designate them". But it seems that I was wrong, they've always just been going by the SI standard.

The correct naming convention to use for multiples of 1024 instead of 1000 is to use IEC binary prefixes, like so:
1 kiB (kibibyte) = 1024 bytes,
1 MiB (mebibyte) = 1024 kiB,
1 GiB (gibibyte) = 1024 MiB,
1 TiB (tebibyte) = 1024 GiB and so on.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binary_prefix

Though the manufacturers could have always made that absolutely clear from the beginning and having made all drives so that the capacities would actually be reported with binary prefixes instead of SI units, since that's what everyone in the IT world is used to. The marketers are most likely to blame for that, as it's of course more convenient to make a drive with less capacity and have it seem larger than it's supposed to be. Of course, no one is really familiar with the binary prefixes (not even many computer scientists until recently it seems), so it would have probably confused everyone if, for example, terabytes would suddenly be called tebibytes.

Think about it, a "kilo" prefix is not used in any other context to designate an amount of 1024 instead of 1000. A kilogram is exactly 1000 grams, a kilometer is 1000 meters, a kilojoule is 1000 joules and so on. Why should computer scientists deviate from this logic and have the SI prefixes mean multiples of 1024 in that context? But like I said, this is a very prevalent misconception that no one seems to have questioned and it will be really difficult to change now. The hard drive manufacturers will certainly never start to use binary prefixes. Actually, if they would, that would be even worse and cause a lot more confusion.

Leaving water dripping in the sink, shower, or anywhere for that matter.
Toilets that keep running long after they've been flushed.
Not replacing the toilet paper when you use the last bit of it.

People clapping their hands in other peoples' faces is annoying. Why do they do that? Do they assume everyone ignores them and they forgot to bring an air horn. Rude and disrespectful behavior usually perpetrated by illiterate, low self-esteem ignoramuses.

I was patient enough to wait almost 12 years to post that and unearth this thread.

Fucktards that buy very expensive foreign luxury cars, and drive like they're special, and don't need to wait their turn, use their turn signals, or say thank you, if you give them a break, which I stopped doing long ago. I also hate people that decide at the last second, they want to make a turn, and do so, at the danger to others, Which is why I had my second motorcycle accident. I generally come very close to a murderous rage, when in a drive thru line, or even a stop light, and some useless little shit stain, feels the need to play crappy music, and concert all pitch, and all you really hear, and feel, is this obnoxious thumping, and vibrate.

All of these scenarios, make me long for the day, I can have .50cal M1A2's mounted in the front of my pick up, with a pop up site, and independent fire control, built into the steering wheel.

We got similar stuffs around here with Mercedes going right through Stop Signs and 12 Cylinder Italian jobs thinking Beverly Glen Bl is a racetrack.

There is a reason for that. In case a vehicle coming up behind you is not stopping you have a place to go(in theory)
Kids now a days don't do 2 very important things. #1), look in there rear view mirrors, when stopping, to be assured the car behind them IS. The gap mentioned, and when you get rear ended, you'll soon find out, saves the front of your car from smashing into the car in front of you. And #2), which I learned from the guy who helped me get into truck driving, is ALWAYS scan the overpasses you are about to go under, to make sure some fuck wit, isn't going to throw a brick off of it. A lot of people have died because of that.

I was taught that in driving school too. You could close the gap once there were a couple of cars (or a rig) safely stopped behind you which would be your "buffer".
I remember when I started driving, being so anxious at a red light with all the stuff I was told to do; watch the light, watch behind me, watch for cars going the other way trying to beat the light, pedestrians who don't care about lights...

What does bug me a red lights are people who clearly are on their phone or not watching the light when it goes green. If I don't see your brake light go off after a couple seconds, I will let you know.
