Ordinarily I prefer girls to keep whatever hair color they had when I first discovered them (which in Penny's case is blonde) but I have to admit, Penny is rocking that red.

I prefer the blonde look though, because IMHO the effect of Penny doing all that rough stuff was maximized by her earlier natural blonde look of purity and innocence, especially in combination with her 'notable' glasses.
