Macbook Pro...too many issues with PC's to ever purchase another one.

So after having gone through two PC laptops that eventually went out on me over the years, last month I finally broke down and bought a MacBook Pro. I don't know why I didn't buy one from the beginning; they are more expensive but jesus, I love it. What are your preferences?

And I do realize that I should probably give it a little more time to truly judge the mac, but from the getgo I loved it so much more than any of the other PCs I had

The hardware and software get so out of date you really do not want a PC to last more than 4 or 5 years at the most.

OS X!
PCs are for tweekers! :p

I'm just kiddin PC guys & gals . . . I do, however, like the idea of never having to worry about break downs and the ensuing tantrums that follow.

Mac's work for me.

I use a PC laptop from work, but my personal is a MacBook Pro... I love it, and would never consider another Windows based machine. :2 cents:

+1 for both of these posts.

Given that the newer Macs will also run Windows if you need to, why would I not want the top rated piece of hardware out there??? :dunno:

I have no need, nor the desire, to "upgrade" my hardware every 18 months to 2 years. And if I want drama in my life, I'll date women half my age. With a computer, I really just want it to work (when I need it to work) and not give me any drama at all. I don't want to tweak it and I don't want to work on it. From what I've seen, for my situation, the MacBook Pro fits the bill perfectly. Other people's mileage may vary...

PC's would be great if it wasn't for Microsoft. PC with Linux rocks, but Mac for plug and play.

I think PCs might all be female.

All those error messages that are communicated in English, but you have no idea what is actually being said.
Rules of normal operation changing all the time, without notice, resulting in lock outs and more down time
Constant patching and maintenance needed of essential systems
At least two days a month when they hardly work at all
The occasional virus ......

It's a theory.

Yus sayin'

errors? viruses? the only time i've had a problem with one of my computers was my laptop's hard drive died and that was due to, um, physical trauma........:(

seriously though, get a good PC to begin with and use good software and you should be trouble free

Macs are PCs... :) but in my experience, Apple laptops are superior to other computer companies (Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, etc), simply due to build quality. OS X is superior to windows for ease of use and reliability for the average user, but is severely lacking for gaming, customization, etc unless you are very good with unix.

I use windows on my desktop because I primarily use it for gaming, and am constantly tinkering with it. My laptop is a Macbook Pro, because I don't care about any of those things and just want it to be easy to use and not break. Considering how many unsecured wireless networks, etc a laptop gets exposed to, having the "security by obscurity" of using OS X is well worth it. Plus laptops tend to take some physical abuse, and having the solid aluminum shell doesn't hurt.

we have a mac and a pc laptops in our house. i am just used to pc's, works better for me. if you are a gamer pc's are still the best and i like them better for business as well.

Honestly, I think it's just me. I am very tough on my machines and they tend to die in protest. I just find Macs more resistant to the constant pounding they get ......:elaugh:

lol, it really all depends what you're doing with the computer, for normal use by people who aren't really knowledgeable about computers a MAC is honestly the better choice i think, less stuff to worry about having to do, adjust etc...for ultimate performance and/or demanding users who want more flexibility starting with a windows based computer is a more logical choice... :2 cents:
