These people should not be considered representative of Christians, I think. Most Christians will acknowledge that the best way for God to heal your child is to bring your sick child to the doctor.

Two other couples from the same church whose children died from untreated ailments have been prosecuted in the last two years.

Jeff and Marci Beagley got 16 months in jail after their son Neil, 16, died of complications from an untreated urinary tract blockage.

The Beagleys' daughter’s husband, Carl Brent Worthington, was jailed for 60 days over the death of his young girl Ava, who had bronchial pneumonia and a blood infection.

So, religion isn't dangerous? Expalin to me why a god would take away something he put into a child knowing it's parents would use prayer instead of something that works? This is what you get when you have a system based on "Pray for it and it's yours" BS. This does represent their religion because they did this because of their religion.

See these scum fuck bastards that cause the suffering of kids through their own ignorance, they should be shot in the face or skinned and thrown into a bathtub of salt. I can't honestly think of a better punishment for those who cause the suffering of babies and really small children. If they want to "faith heal" themselves then do so. But to cause the suffering of others through their own beliefs is not the way to get on my good side!. I hope they get the jail time of five years. It's not good enough but it's better than nothing I suppose.

This is just further proof that religion is not only stupid and dangerous, but it also shows that there is physical and visible proof that stupid people are breeding. That child should've been in the hospital at the first sign of trouble, but leave it to stupid people to put their child's life into the hands of an invisible man and hope that he catches her. Unfortunately, their God wasn't there. If there is a God, and he cared, that child would've been saved. Now if those parents would've gone to the hospital, their child, in all likelihood, would've been saved. I'd rather go to the hospital and put my life into the hands of a person who knows how to save lives. Sure he's "playing God", but at least there's a physical person standing there and I trust his knowledge. People like that child's parents should be locked up forever, just for being stupid.

I usually agree with your opinions, but this is one that I do not agree with. Ok, yes I do agree that it's not the state's right to step in, but any decent human being with a conscience will tell you if the child needs medical help then something should be done, whether it's the parent's right or not. If I knew a couple that had a child who needed help and nothing was being done, and I could visibly see that the child was suffering, I would take it upon myself to act in the child's best interest, even though I know it's none of my business. I was raised with the notion that you should help people regardless of who they are, especially kids. To this day, I don't care who I'm with or where I'm at, if I see anyone that needs help or looks like they could use it, if I don't physically go over and ask if I may help them, my conscience will bother me for a long time.

I agree - and from what I've seen, 93.652% of religious beliefs are solely designed to impinge on human rights.

I usually agree with your opinions, but this is one that I do not agree with. Ok, yes I do agree that it's not the state's right to step in, but any decent human being with a conscience will tell you if the child needs medical help then something should be done, whether it's the parent's right or not.

I know they should have done something. The state should have stayed out of it.

There's nothing I could do. I don't know them.

when parents are threatening the well being of a child someone needs to step in and since i'd prefer just to shoot these two fucktards i'll allow the less angry government agency to do it...the real question is: what constitutes threatening the well being of a child?...i'd say intentionally allowing a blinding agent upon a child threatens its well being
