Paranormal Activity

Unfortunatly since this isn't some huge Hollywood Blockbuster that cost millions to make, we've been thrown back into the dark ages and have to wait until sometime before the New Year when it comes to the dutch theaters.
Yep.
Gotta love the Internets. :)

I don't like the modern kind of horro or scary movies, in fact I don't like most of any horror movies.

I will not watch this one, too.

See it. In theaters.

There really is no middle ground. It will either freak you out, or you'll think it's dumb. But if you see it, see it in the theater. Get the full crowd effect. Don't wait for the DVD.

Walking out of the theater, there were girls crying. The person sitting next to me thought it was overhyped. It got to me. I had to sit and collect myself for a little while. Just sitting there like... wow. Wow.

Just don't believe what that person said about the sound. Yeah, the loud, sudden startles contribute, especially to the climax of the picture. But to me, it was just the creepiness of something terrible that you know nothing about, that just escalates as the plot moves on. Even the last few, most terrifying seconds (imo) aren't about the inital startle-fuck, but the creepy cuddling after. lol There are some truly frightening moments that just linger.

I can only recommend!!

It's a really good movie. If you think it is a shit horror movie, you can always go watch Saw 6, Last House on the Left or another masterpiece like those.

Prince of the Rotten Milk
what a fuckin coincidence!

i was just navigating the web searching for this film, and then BAM! i just found this thread

only for that, i'm going to watch it

looks scary anyway

... so I just saw this film.

I didn't find it the least bit scary !?!?!

Same here.

There was a couple of parts that were o.k.,but it was too much of a Blair Witch wannabe.

The thing about this movie that I found extremely annoying was that you had people making stupid fucking decisions that any normal "real" person wouldn't make, and that fact that *SPOILER*(highlight here) They gave away the ending in the commercial when you see a body flying into the camera that's set up in the bedroom.Subsequently,as you watch the movie, you are waiting for that part, and when you finally realize when it's comming,it's not even scary, because it's not a surprise.Would've been more effective if they left that out of the commercial. (to here)

i've been numbed to horror movies, i saw em all when i was like 6-8, the only one that affected me was "It," scared the fucking shit out of me, i'm still scared to death of clowns

Your right mate but the end of that movie ruined it for me but up until the end when they come across the big spider & it gets a bit ridiculous , it was absolutly brilliant , when I watch it now I just switch it off near the end :1orglaugh

Just finished watching it for the first time, made the mistake of looking it up on wikipedia midway through and found out the ending. Not a bad film at all although a bit boring at times. Maybe the story needed a bit more depth/explanation although the ending was creepy and enexpected (unless you looked it up on wikipedia midway through  )

Some truth in that, but I think that the film didnt need more dept/explanation. Boring at times? I dont think so, but boring - or "boring" - parts is needed in a film. Especially in horror films and action films. It is a part of the dynamics of a film.

Anyway: looks like you approve the film, and that makes me happy. It is one of my favorites. :D

Shifty

O.G.
I thought the second movie was pretty good as well. It ties in neatly with the first one.

Edit - referring to my post back in 2009. I have since watched the first movie and it is indeed scary.

I loved both the paranormal activities but would love to see one made with a bigger budget like Insidious

I was dissapointed by P.A. 2, but it had some elements I liked. I'm looking forward to P.A. 3
