Other Browsers

I've used all these browsers at some time or another;

Firefox - CometBird - Opera - Chrome - Safari - Internet Explorer

Each has their strengths/weaknesses (except IE which completely sucks) and I'm curious as to what other browsers people are using and why. What are your opinions on them? I'm especially curious about one called Iron.

I recommend CometBird.

I've seen people use SeaMonkey and Flock. Flock is a browser built for social networking. That's about all I know about those two browsers.

I haven't been using CometBird long, so the jury's still out, but I would give it a cautious, yes.

Anyhow, after I installed CometBird, I decided to keep it along with Firefox. It is almost identical to FF, so if you know how to use FF, you'll be comfortable with CB. I decided to keep CB, because I have several add-on's in FF and on occasion, I need to surf without the add-on's, and it is extremely tedious having to disable, and then re-enable.

I hate Chrome, because you can't turn off the tabbed browsing. I think Opera does the same thing.

I use tabs when I'm on this board as I like to open multiple threads, but when I'm doing other stuff, it's quite bothersome. I've discussed this in other threads on here and there quite a few members that feel the same.

I download Iron and SeaMonkey. It's obvious Iron is based on Chrome and SeaMonkey on FireFox. I quickly tossed Iron into the shit-pile and played with SeaMonkey. In my goofing off with it, I actually learned a couple of things that I'd never realized could be done with FireFox. One of which was getting rid of that annoying search box on the navigation toolbar. I had my search engine listed on my bookmarks toolbar and that search box just irritated the crap outta me.

ive dl'd cometbird and will give it a shot soon. if its as fast as opera with text and has auto complete the way i need it like firefox did, then i might have a winner.

IE --

FF -- getting too slow.

just tried cometbird. i like how its just like firefox but its no where as fast as stupid opera.

i dont like how i couldnt import my firefox bookmarks and passwords to it, they gave me an option for IE and fag chrome import though. gay!

it does remember multiple logins and passwords, however. which is great. and i think it does auto complete.

i think.. maybe ill use cometbird (given more time testing) as a main browser and opera for my other needs. who knows. but yeah, im done with FF. they have added on and added on and it slowed way down. its a shame too, i really liked it in its prime.

yep, re FF: what's so bizarre is u would think -- with every upgrade -- speed would actually improve ; in fact, quite the opposite lol .
