One of Elon Musk’s companies are selling flamethrowers to the general public

It's more like a normal wide mouth propane torch package in a gun shape. It's not something I would consider a "flamethrower". Look at videos of what actual military flamethrowers do. It's not this.

Unfortunately, semantics aside, it's got jussst enough of an element for as Blue Countach pointed out ... this not ending well. It might be a sorry ass excuse for a flamethrower, but there's still just enough of a flame danger there for some wacked out student to create a situation at a school ... or any other fucked up criminal to ohhh say --- hold up a bank, a convenience store or any business with one of these glorified propane torches. Who knows ... a group of friends might decide it's a great idea to play Rambo or Mercenary or whatever with each of them having one of these flamethrowers and next thing you know, something will go seriously wrong.

Never heard of Del-Ton before. Here's a link you might like to browse. I've already drooled on my keyboard, and made a wish list. Wanna guess which is my favorite?!?!?! I was honestly amazed at the number of companies that make AR's.

My Del-Ton is manufactured here in North Carolina. Supporting the home team. I made some awesome mods to it over the holidays.

The thing is I don't see how that isn't already the case with a normal propane torch that can easily be bought at most hardware or home improvement stores, and for a much cheaper at that. At that point people are worried because it looks more cool than them. While there are a lot of stupid people out there that might do something dumb because of that, as long as there aren't selling it to kids, I have a problem with basing some objects threat level based off of appearances and not actual function.
