Old people

Ok thanks I get it now regarding the rueful tongue in cheek.

If not advocating that old people kill themselves, he shares the sentiment that it would be better for society if healthcare resources were spent elsewhere and not wasted on the elderly whose value to the state does not match their cost. They're better off taking their pain pills and dying.

Well, I didn't hear it that way. What I heard was him suggesting following a realistic course when the evidence regarding a patient, based on expert medical opinion, clearly indicated any other course would be pointless. (and perhaps even counterproductive).

I won't bore with details unless requested, but having not too long ago gone though something like this with my own father, what he said resonated with me.

I could argue that they do not receive food stamps either

they do vote and cash checks somehow

a lady got caught cashing govt check for her mom dead for 30 years and she said she thought she was allowed to- I forget the reason

BCT

Pucker Up Butter Cup.
That's one serious hitch. More like a foundational and fatal flaw from the get go.

No, but i made the suicide comment tongue-in-cheek, if ruefully. I'm on my phone now, but I'm talking about the Jane Sturm question of course.

Sounds good.

You are granted quite a significant length of time (not sure how long...somebody else here will probably know) to cash any outstanding social security checks your deceased parent(s) may have left behind You have to inform SS of the date of death of your parent, but any checks that weren't cashed before that date are redeemable by next of kin.

not quite right

details are hazy as its been a while

I think it was a rail road pension check she thought she was entitled to some how- they may have some special considerations with the govt
she said she took the money innocently but the court also gave her another label to add to her name and it is
CONVICTED FELON-- it was a 60 mins story

in your example why not leave cash or a personal check- unless the income taxes were a wrk a round

when my dad died mom had to settle with the ss office- final ss checks- they can cum after assets

I understand there is id theft of dead people
I think the inherators could find trouble with govt acting to recover losses years later

Ah I see. Completely different circumstances.

Seriously? You are capable of reading a history book, right? So you do know the "eliminating" those who are deemed a "drag on society" never ends well, because you never stop after the original group of people you demonized are eliminated. That's cuz after you eliminate, say, old people you're still going to have problems, and you'll want to blame someone, other than yourself, of course, for said problems, so the next group gets scapegoated, and on and on. Moreover, it astounds me that even if the original post on this thread was a joke, and I sincerely hope it was, that people even jokingly spout this kind of ignorant, unChristian, inhuman, inhumane bullshit in the year 2016. All you have to do is touch your smartphone to access the amassed wisdom of the ages, and people are still this WILLFULLY FUCKING IGNORANT. You should seriously be ashamed of yourself. And you should know that if you successfully scapegoat one group, it won't be long before YOU are the group that's scapegoated. Furthermore, bear in mind those "old people" built the world you enjoy right now. That 90 year old "drag" on society you scorn probably had a number of confirmed kills in WW2, and is the reason you're not worshiping the emperor or greeting anyone in a uniform with an enthusiastic, and altogether required-under-penalty-of-prison-or-death, "sieg heil." Time to grow the fuck up, and actually find out about the world around you before you make such fucking ignorant pronouncements in a public forum. Or better yet, to eliminate the REAL drag on society, let's get rid of all the ignorant little shits, who think life can be made easier by genocide.

speaking of smartphone, I'm reading your wall of text on my phone. would it kill you to paragraph break? And you're readingfunny if you didn't get that I'm against having old people kill themselves or to just let them die so as to not be a burden on society.

Who's the REAL "burden" on society? Old people or fucking willfully ignorant people, who can't see any more than two inches in front of their own nose. If you cannot appreciate what you were given by those "burdens" I feel very sorry for you.

Yours is a false narrative, that presumes a nation's fiscal problems are due to "lazy" or "weak" people, who aren't pulling their weight, as you see it. We're not trillions in debt because we fill prescriptions for old people or feed children. We're trillions of dollars in debt because we're engaged in two simultaneous wars, with no corresponding increase in government revenue. We're trillions of dollars in debt because everyone wants something from the government, but they think the government is evil, so they don't want to pay for it. Even if you eliminate ALL those "burdens" which you decry, we'll still sink further and further into debt, because younger generations insist on things like an uncontrolled military and government perks for ME, but not the other guy, without paying for it.

When you point the finger and cry, "burden," notice who the other three fingers are pointing at.

you will be young at heart if you lick something like this
