No thanks, I don't feel like paying.

Can't we just let BP go into debt?

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
who didn't see this coming? We're all gonna pay for it one way or another. If nothing else you really think BP is gonna put up all that money and not get it back somehow? If we don't get taxed to death, we'll be paying $10+ at the pump before its over...

With the laws passed in the adminstration I think 75 million is the max, they will pay more due to the bad press, of course!

larss

I'm watching some specialist videos
Problem is that we are all to happy to have the benefits of the oil, but none of the downside when it all goes tits up. If we did not need oil so much, then BP would not have been drilling in such an inaccessible place and the chances of such a huge disaster would have been far less. The US government actively encouraged the well in the first place. The actual disaster could and should have been averted, but that is the fault of a few functionaries (some of whom died in the resultant explosion), not the entire company.

I don't see what's all the fuss about some congressman giving idiotic statements. Exxon paid over $2 billion for cleaning efforts after the Exxon Valdez spill. Why should it be any different with BP?

Stop making sense!!!!:thefinger:mad:

Couldn't we just liquidate all of BP's assets, make them fail as a company, and sell off the pieces to pay for this? I'd like to see them totally fail as a company. Let their employees get absorbed into the companies that buy up the assets. Let the upper management get unemployed and fined.

DUH!!!!
No shit it will fall on us (THE TAXPAYERS)!!!

When Obama did his whole "I'm in charge of this situation now" bullcrap it essentially means in a round about way that the government is in charge therefore WE (taxpayers) will bail out yet another huge corporation. AND BP will ultimately pass on it's costs/exspenses to the consumer.

either way- it's like Colonel Yin says (to Braddock) "YOU LOOSE."

Financial Armageddon is close at hand.
Be ready...
