Ohio Christian school tells student to skip prom

Will E Worm

Conspiracy...
b) The girl was almost certainly worth it.

I doubt they get married.
If the girl isn't worth marrying, she isn't worth getting into trouble for.

c) He'll learn more from this experience than he has from most of what was taught to him (if "teaching" is what one wants to call it) at the Christian school.

Depends. Public schools don't teach much.
Look at most of the graduates.

I only hope his parents have learned something from this, as well...

His parents might file a lawsuit. So, they didn't learn anything.

An idiot parent sends son to idiot school, where they then enforce an idiot rule. Why are they complaining?

Just for the record I think parents should have to pass competency exams in the areas they wish to teach to the necessary grade level. There is no doubt about it I would really struggle with high school these days. How could I even begin to think I could teach it?

it's clear! dancing is a direct path to satan! and satan! is a direct path to hell! and hell is a direct path to more hell! one dance to rule them all!

i got to 2nd place at my 1st dance i was 10 dancing with a 14 yr old i got up her shirt and my 1st french kiss awww that was a great dnace lol

but i think now days people over do it alot it is just a dance shouldnt you have faith and trust in your kids now a days

Dancing wasn't allowed in my HS.

Well, I should be more specific. I wasn't allowed to dance. The floor would get all wet, and there was a problem with people slipping and hurting themselves. Something to do with the ratio of my sexy : girls in the Auditorium.

Damn this curse! I'm just too pretty.

Dancing might lead to ...

Dancing might lead to ... gasp ... sex!
Of course, life might lead to that as well.

Dancing, alcohol, drugs and other things are just the excuse.
God forbid we teach kids to be responsible with their choices.

No! No! We can't do that! Them thinking for themselves?!

Sorry, I was a mega-sinner in high school.
Yet I made very logical, responsible choices.

I've yet to find anyone who can even remotely argue with me on that.
In fact, I've even turned a few Bible thumpers in my time.

Some people need Bibles because they wouldn't be responsible with free will.
I'm not one of those people, never have been, never will be.

Never gave into peer pressure, including never drinking, drugs or anything else.
I didn't want to fuck up my future, because it only takes one incident.

what i think is most troubling about this whole situation is that the poor kid didn't even try to sneak this one under the radar. i'm pretty sure he could have faked the signature and gone with no repercussions. however, he did the "right thing" and had the principle sign the form so he could go.

i'm afraid the lesson learned here is to avoid full disclosure.

yeah, they knew the schools rules. yeah, they signed a contract. but this kid asked permission before committing this egregious act. seems to me that if you have a kid go through your program and (s)he conforms in this way, there should be some trust granted and some latitude given.

i went to Christian schools too. If one of them pulled a stunt like this with my kids, I'd yank them instantly and go wide-spread public press. this is a bad misuse of power and trust.

That's why they don't dance, listen to secular music, or dress in anything that reveals more than their face and hands.

Several years ago I worked at a big shipping company, where they employed students from all the colleges in the area. One of the schools was a bible college and the students there wore long pants and long sleeve shirts, even on the hottest summer days.

Take a Hit, Spunker!
I'm glad the kid went. Fuck Christian schools and all their hypocrisy!!

Blasphemy!!! How can you make logical, responsible choices if you try thinking for yourself?!? Surely what you meant to say is that all your logical, responsible choices were dictated by 3,000-year-old texts from the Middle East, right?

I always wear long pants. I HATE shorts. The only time when I wear shorts is when I bathe my dog.

Like a bunch of religious people and organizations they believe that they are the only ones smart or enlightened enough to know what God wants. They also never seem to have any trouble at all speaking for him or speaking as if they have his authority, even though they sure don't seem to be God.

Sounds like Will E.
