A well defied enemy with boarders that can be pointed to on a map (although saying that is easier than doing so for some of these folk) and a government that differs ever so slightly from our own is a far greater propaganda tool than a bunch of mullahs plotting to ****** your good wholesome Christian ******** in a cave somewhere.
It's easier on the eye and more cinematic that way....
