It's also a bit annoying when people say "oh I'm so OCD about that!"

Yeah. That's bullshit. It riles me up when people compare their (often singular) little quirks with this serious condition that can really fuck up your life if it isn't recognized.

Way of the future, way of the future *ahem, way of the future, way of the future, way of the future *ahem, way of the future *ahem, way of the future, way of the future *ahem, way of the future *ahem, way of the future *ahem.... the way of the future.... the way of the future.... the way of the future

I don't have OCD, but after seeing the end of the Aviator really got me to read more about it. This disease destroyed this brilliant and talented man :( You can tell in the bathroom that he's struggling to keep it under control, but it's a losing battle.

I was a caregiver for my grandmother for a while and it didn't get rid of my OCD. If anything it made it worse in some ways. You have to realize that OCD isn't something that just goes away... You Might learn how to control it or adapt to certain situations, but its always there.... or at least it always has been with me.

My point being that if you don't have time to count all the M&M's because you've got more important things to do you'll learn to ignore it. You're right, it won't go away, but it's not insurmountable, and certainly not something a little cognitive therapy can't fix.

As a child I used to count the number of steps up to my school, while making sure I didn't step on any cracks. I can be very much a hoarder in various ways and am obsessive compulsive over certain things at times, sure. I dunno, I've never been analyzed as such before though, but I've known a few friends through my past who have been and are both similar and very different from myself.

Obsessive and compulsive somewhat, but no disorder. Some things I do because I like doing them or want to be that way and not because I don't have the ability to stop.

Even so, it might sometimes be a little unhealthy.
