^^^ HM, to deny the vitriol spewed at Bush is just to deny reality. When BHO did the same things, nothing from the people or the media. That's my point. And I happen to agree about Iraq, but once you are in a war, you gotta be in it to WIN.
Sorry, you just have the facts wrong on this. The ENTIRE world sans the most extreme anti-warriors was with GWB after 9/11 and his decision to invade Afghanistan.
That changed the moment he started trumping up the case to invade Iraq. EVEN THEN the majority of Demo politicians jumped on that wagon with him out of fear for the politics on it. EVEN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIAS were given edicts not to pursue stories critical of Bush's build up to the Iraq war. So C/S I'm not sure where you were hiding then but you just don't have the facts accurate on this.
Obama has lost, disappointed or disillusioned many of his followers who inexplicably thought he was going to pull out of Afghanistan when spent his entire campaign saying the opposite.
The bottom line is that claiming the almost $800 billion worth of wasted taxpayer money in the "stimulus" bill saved us from a "worse" recession is spurious at best, and ah hoc since it cannot be confirmed nor dis-proven. But the massive 14 trillion dollar debt that has us printing money like a third world country is objectively hurting all Americans. IMHO, the best thing the government can do is keep things fair in the market and keep thier hands off the rest... they hurt the economy more than they help it (see housing crisis, created by Federal mandates to get people in houses).
How do you know the medication worked a doctor gave you when it's possible under many circumstances for your own immune system to step up and do the healing??
All I know is during the depression unemployment hovered between 20 and 25 pct. It is essentially November, 2010 now 1 yr. and 9 mos. after Obama took office and unemployment is at about 9 and a half percent. 1 year and 9 mos. after Reagan took office it was 10.8 pct. and didn't fall below 10 pct. until 2.5 years after he was inaugurated.
What do you make of those analogous cases? What I make of it is history has shown us it could have been worse under the circumstances.
Further, since taxes are at some of the lowest rates in our country's history now..What exactly should have been done in your opinion? Keep in mind..more than a 3rd of the stimulus was MORE tax cuts and incentives on top of that.
So facing the worst economic circumstances since the depression...what would economic advisor "CunningStunts" have recommended?
It all comes down to these questions: Do you trust these politicians? Do you believe that massive, expensive programs run from DC help the nation? Do you believe it's ok to FORCE people who don't agree with this philosophy to pay for those who do? Do you believe the majority has the right to force their agenda on individuals who disagree?
Was that the basis for why GWB didn't raise a cent to pay for the wars...some people didn't support the policy so it's not okay to FORCE them to pay for that philosophical decision?
PS...sorry if you have a problem with the quotes...I don't use up characters to try and pinpoint who and what I'm addressing. I use the handy feature FOs provides that allows me to show who and what I'm addressing.
