Like I said, it sure showed Japan.
It also showed them when the US rebuilt them into a powerful economy.
Damn right. We sure got the best of them!
Like I said, it sure showed Japan.
What does that mean signing with a russian "second officer" ?
What do you mean by Japan?!? Do you mean all the innocent men, women & children that were killed in the blast & by the subsequent effects of radiation as well as the legacy of birth defects etc? Yeah, it sure showed them & reason enough for nothing like it to ever ever happen again!Like I said, it sure showed Japan.
Putin was just too busy waxing his chest to attend? It doesn't mean he wasn't there in spirit.

I don't really see what we need nuclear weapons for?!?

& in what way were Japan a rogue country or terrorists?
No need for these weapons. The true horrors of them were shown during WW2, and don't believe the bullshit government story that it saved countless lives, they needed to experiment on how the bomp would effect a large concentrated population, the Japanese were not saints but I thought the USA held the moral and ethical high ground in that war. You'll notice that for such a appalling event, no politicians or the US media hardly ever mentions them by name, guilt perhaps? I still found it sickening that a supposedly civilised country like the US could drop a bomb on a residential city full of women and children (most men were off fighting) knowing that 100s of 1000s would be killed instantly and the 'survivors' would die slow agonizing deaths. The US can accuse other countries all they want off wanting to acquire and use atomic weapons, but they remain the only nation to have ever used them on civilians and the world will never forget that. I await the responses of 'well that's war', 'innocent people get killed in wars', 'collateral damage' or 'well they started it', if that's enough justification for you and puts your mind at rest then I envy you.

dude, you are 100% mother fucking wrong. that bomb put the japs out of commission, and made them think "hmm, they have the biggest bomb ever made, maybe we should surrender". if they hadnt dropped that damn bomb, we would have invaded, and by "we" i mean "the USA, Soviets, UK, etc etc" and countless lives would have been lost because of a foolish and out of date country couldnt see the fucking light at the end of the tunnel, which happened to be a train coming to hit em in the face.
so yea, whether we had to test it or not, its one of the best decisions we ever made in time of war.

But seriously, folks, this is horrible news - My lifelong dream of witnessing a nuclear holocaust seems that much further from being possible now...
:crying:
You know that the atomic bombings weren't the only thing that made Japan surrender, right? The Soviets declaring war and attacking Manchukio had a lot to do with it.
It has more to do with experimenting new weapons and saving money as each day at war millions are spent, you can still see that today. Japan was as good as defeated and on the back foot, no planes, no ships and demoralised soldiers who were committing suicide in the thousands. At that point no one could've been invaded by anyone, plus the USA hated the USSR but had to appease them to keep them onside, they then spent the next 40 years fighting them unofficially in Vietnam, Korea and Afghanistan (arming the very Mujahadeen that fights you now but instead you call them the Taliban hoping people won't notice). So why not drop a bomb on Saudi Arabia?, 15 of the 19 9/11 bombers were from there. In fact has anyone even phoned the Saudi King and raised the issue?
