President Barack Obama might want to pull back on his heavy-handed push for more *** control, not to mention his constant attacks against the National Rifle Association, because according to a new ABC/Washington Post poll, a 53 percent majority of Americans oppose his plan to ban assault weapons.
“Just 45 percent in this national survey favor an assault weapons ban, down 11 percentage points from an ABC/Post poll in 2013 and down from a peak of 80 percent in 1994,” ABC News reported.
Moreover, the poll revealed that a notable plurality of Americans — 42 to 47 percent — think that encouraging citizens to carry concealed weapons would make more sense in the war against radical Islamic terrorism than imposing stricter *** control regulations.
It just so happens that this idea of arming our citizenry stems from none other than the NRA, which has been encouraging Americans to arm themselves for decades.
Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. said it best at a convocation two weeks ago.
“I’ve always thought if more good people had concealed carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in and ****** them,” he told a crowd of applauding students.
And apparently, most Americans agree with both him and the NRA, which means in turn that they disagree with President Obama and his liberal devotees who continue to prop up myths about how more firearms lead to more crime and other such nonsense.
