Actually, Chuck, this is sort of voting as the 10 with the most nominations go through to the voting round.
If that's how they're indeed doing it, it's certainly going to make it tough to fulfill the 2nd objective of this thread ... that of adding more OCSMs to the ballot.
I think when it comes down to it, it was a mistake to have combined the OCSM of the Month competition and the other objective of adding more OCSMs to the ballot.
The way it's being done with the 2 objectives combined, there's like a conflict of interest.
I think everyone's natural, instinctive thinking is that they have that certain absolute Favorite whom they want to win the March 2012 OCSM of the Month title.
So, I think it makes it difficult for anyone to think in terms of, "Hey! Let's introduce way more competition into the mix ... and reduce my Favorite's chances of winning the March title."
And so the multi nominations for the same OCSMs flow of this thread is what ensues.
Another thing I was basing my previous comment on was that last month, I had received a PM asking to help add more OCSMs to the ballot by contributing 3 OCSM nominations.
It was mentioned who was ineligible and who had already been nominated and thus, to please nominate 3
different OCSMs other than those mentioned as ineligible or already nominated. So, with that group in mind, I also scanned the Nomination thread that was going on and made my nomination contribution of "different" OCSMs.
Anyway, oh well, the global economy probably won't be affected by how this plays out.
May a very deserving OCSM win the March title ... and more qualified OCSM candidates be added to the ballot.
