Nintendo WII , or PS III or XBOX 360

ive got a 360 with hd dvd drive and it does everythin anyone would want it to i rekon better media center device all in all than the PS3, although i do like the look of PS3's the new cheeper 40gb looks an option. If i was to get one it would probibly be for FFXIII that game will look amazing...imo either 360 or PS3.. go with 360 for online games one annual payment over say ten monthly subscriptions (bank would hate you :p)..but if ur into hardcore single player action go for PS3.............

oh and dont touch the shoddy Wii's ;)

I don't care how good the PS3 is - it is ridiculously expensive. You could buy a decent computer for the dough.

I'll wait a year or 18 months until the price comes down and they have more games.

No... just no. PS3 has way more media functions than the 360 (even with the HDDVD add on), hence the rather hefty price tag for the 8-GB version. They are both excellent consoles though.

$399 isn't exactly robbing the bank these days. I don't know what kind of descent PC costs you $399 but if you know where I can get one please tell me.

That's only 40 GB and it's not backwards compatible with PS2 (though apparently it is with PS1 - strange).

The proper one is $500.
Are you seriously suggesting that you cannot find a barely used 'decent' computer from a reputable source on eBay for $500?
If you are, then you just are not looking hard enough - IMO.

I say wait 9-12 months when the 80 GB version is probably $400 and the games to go with it have come down in price similarly - or more.

Fortunately, I am the kind of person who is more interested in a solid quality of gaming at a decent price; rather then spending a very small fortune to be the first on the block with the new toys.
The games will be just as good either way. Only my way, you can afford a whole lot more of them for the same price (not that I am the only one who does it this 'way').

I've got a 360 and that seems to have everything I could ever dream of.

The Wii, to me, is definately fun, but after a while I think the novelty of it kind of wears off, meaning I for one would want to look for the next step up, because the Wii is not a hardware monster by any strech of the imagination. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't want one.

I like the 360 best because it's got high level hardware, is somewhat affordable, (I say somewhat because I still don't know why an essentially dumbed down graphics processor is $400) and simply put, it has all the really good games on it. The PS3, despite the price cut, is nothing more than an expensive Blue Ray player at this point. Although it has nearly the same processing capability as the 360, that potential has yet to be realized. I have yet to see a PS3 game that doesn't look like the color has been dampened significantly. Until a developer really takes advantage of the Cell processor in the PS3, I'll just pass. :2 cents:

Why don't you keep your old PS2 and buy the 40GB version? Or if you don't have an old PS2 buy a used one. Backward compatibility is really not that much of a big deal especially if you are only interested in playing the newer games. Maybe it's just me but I don't care for backward compatibility. It's kinda nice to have it there but I never use it.

That's an idea.

But I am so used to buying games at discount prices; it's hard for me to fathom paying $70 for a game when I can wait 6 months or a year and pay $40 for it or less.
And as silly as it sounds maybe, but 40 GB doesn't sound like much to me. Especially when the top end XBox 360 has 120 gigs.
But I am used to older console and newer PC games, so I don't know.

You can change the harddrive on the 40GB. I know a bunch of guys that switch harddrives. The PS3 will use any standard 3.5" internal HDD. There are a bunch of cheap hard drives you can get here: http://www.geeks.com/products.asp?cat=HDD
 I just spotted a 150GB harddrive for as low as $58.99.

I have a Wii, I like it. I just recently played a little bit of PS3, and my buddy has his 360 over here playing it on my new 42" flat panel. I like the graphics of both the ps3 and 360 much better, but the graphics on the Wii are not near as bad as some make them out to be. As far as playing games, I enjoy playing the Wii a lot more than the others. I get so much more into it. I was trying to play Call of Duty 4 on Xbox but had difficulty with the joystick....it'll take me some time to get it back......I'm so used to Medal of Honor: Vanguard for the Wii, just aiming at the screen. It would be freakin awesome if COD4 was like that.....
I think eventually the Nintendo will launch a much more advanced console down the road, and that Sony and Microsoft will come out with something that mimic's the Wii's remote play....

They probably will. Microsoft has been DYING since the PS2/original X-Box days to get the majority market share, and until the 360 launched, it didn't happen. Then along came the Wii and beat the 360 in sales. Microsoft does have a history of, shall I say borrowing other companies ideas and incorporating them into their own.

I have both the PS3 & 360 and i play on the 360 ALOT more, the controller is more suited for games like COD4 (trigger button) and the analog button on the left is better placed than the one on the PS3, The gameplay is much better on the 360 too, online play is also better on the 360.

The PS3 and 360 are so almost-exactly-the-same that its really down to what games you play ..

Have a look around and see what games you like, for example, if you want some decent FPS games, I would recommend the 360. But if are into adventure games, PS3 is the way to go.

I have never played a PS3, but I always keep an open mind and try not to become a "fanboy".

I've got a gamecube and i'll go with the Wii. Next is the 360 (Naruto: Rise of a ninja is awesome) and then the PS2. The PS3 isn't worth the money to me.

Wii is only good for exercise, the 360 always gets destroyed.

I hope you don't mean it gets destroyed by the PS3 ? Because so far that's really not the case at all and probably never will be . I hope Sony does better and stays in the game because that's what makes microsoft work harder to win .
