For the years of dedication and commitment, of both themselves and the people that have supported site for well over a decade, it is fair.

I hope - though with zero expectation - that before the site is truly shuttered they give us one final goodbye.

Yes. The way it was explained to me was "Crave You" was somewhat of a breaking point for how videos were conceived and directed. Up until that video Mumblez was a sort of lead, or co-lead, in the creation process. The shoot was apparently quite contentious with lots of squabbling. After that, Mumblez backed off and let Nikki take the lead, and to be honest, some of the best videos they did were post June 2016. "Bubble Bikini," "Squirting Good Time," "Glass," "Spunky," "Shake Weight Torture," "Road Trip" and "Mesh Suck" were predominantly Nikki-led videos (with Mumblez sometimes shooting and providing advice on blocking of the action). This put all the onus on Nikki to develop and choose the structure and limitations of the content.

After a while, the grind of having to always produce content within the bounds of their comfort-zone led to tedium. On top of this process-fatigue, there was the added issue of constant criticism from Freeones (which frankly provided the majority of their feedback outside of the group chats, twitter and innerdeviant [which were predictably fawning]). They had no one to talk to who could provide unbiased advice or share their frustrations with; their peers from the solo non-nude model world had either become estranged or had closed up shop. The final nail in the coffin was the death of affiliate marketing and the proliferation of tubesites and porn piracy boards poaching their content within 24hrs of release.

In summary, the reasons for Nikki's retirement were:

1) It was no longer fun
2) There was too much criticism
3) The easy money dried up and thieves took the rest

The twitter rant that Nikki posted years back were in some part her own thoughts but in many ways were the expression of Mumblez' frustration that were voiced through Nikki (as she had a bigger platform on twitter than him to voice said). She definitely wanted a break. She was fed up with all of it and wanted to see if time away would rekindle her interest or if it would lead her to finding something new. After 8 months away she was essentially convinced that she wouldn't be returning. The business had changed and it was no longer aligned with their interests and values.

Now, why is it that they have gone silent since May 31st? No idea. Seems abrupt to me. Don't know what triggered it. I can see it being a simple matter of cost, perhaps, or may be just a full and complete burnout on it, but I really can't say for sure. Of course I would appreciate getting a sign-off or at least some sort of formal goodbye. but in lieu of that, I hope the best for them.

I must admit I have never been able to get my head around this, yes there was some criticism of a video or pic set, but lets put it into perspective we are talking about one or two individuals not liking something put out by Nikki and Joey as apposed to the thousands upon thousands of supporters who watched without comment.

Personally when you’re in the tease business like Nikki, I think angry people comes with the gig. They want to see more and more. The more upset they are the better at your job it seems. Probably somewhat true, but I think it was the grind of constantly churning out content that over-sensitized them to criticism. They had their stable of regulars who were at every camshow with endless approval and tips, but perhaps the smattering of critics at freeones started to underline issues they themselves felt with their content. That they were going through the motions, that they had painted themselves into a corner with their niche, that they had reached the end of their comfort level and didn't want to progress into more explicit territory. I don't know why people always take the critical word more seriously than the praise, but they did. I tend to agree with Slacker4lyfe that teasing is in principle at least somewhat irritating, and more irksome for some than others. She certainly frustrated me on many occasions. I think some of our frustrations with the tease began to find voice here which in turn grew into her being fed up both with the grind and with our expressing frustration with their content.

We all agree (most of us) that they sort of painted themselves into a corner so to speak. However, did they try to look for new avenues that didn't involve total nudity?

I suggested 'naked sushi', 'glitter tits', and 'body painting', to their credit, they followed the script entirely including surprising Nikki at the end with the mirror. I can't complain as they did take fan suggestions that they could do at home/studio and in their comfort zone. I suspect many others made suggestions as well!

Looking at what the models on OnlyFans are doing now they could have taken some ideas and ran with them. The whole try-on fad would have been right up her alley.
