My holidays should be quiet, although I should be getting off work early on Christmas Eve so that's good.
My mom was actually of the Shinto religion for the longest time. But loved Christmas time and everything that goes with it.

Mine too sweetie. I can't travel due to health crap so my family and I are doing a Christmas in July thingy this year.

I'm celebrating Christmas. Well the entire country is. For myself, it's just a way to appreciate the people I love by giving them gifts. Cheers!

Really great video that made me want to belive the goodness in all people, and I really do belive there is good in everyone. I'm just sick of seeing all the negativity in the media. It almost makes me a bitter S.O.B. and I do not want that. Durring my weekend one of my friends in Parental Advisory opened up to me and said she has been abused by other men and that I was the first guy besides her husband that she can fully trust. I hope she has a positive life ahead of her. Thanks for sharing Nikki.

Hony I know it is hard. I of ALL people know that. You have to focus on the good and if certain people are just not good to the point of only bringing bad or toxic crap into your life then cut them out. Energy is contagious. Try to control the enrgy you allow around you. As for that which you can not control due to work or what have you....then just be really strong and focussed and do not let the negative and toxic crap bring you to it's level. Rise above and be bigger and stronger. A single light can disperse the darkness.

I kind of HAVE to "celebrate" Christmas due to my 'Krazy4Krismas' wife! lol

I like the friends and family stuff...very much dislike the rampant gluttony, always have (even as a kid).

Quite unfortunately, my most favorite celebration is overshadowed by Christmas -- Winter Solstice!!!
A real live actual measurable and all-natural scientific event -- and the start of the TRUE New Year!
Those in the Northern part of the planet know all too well how much of a disaster the Shortest Day of the Year is.
From here on out things only get brighter and warmer!

I send gifts and make phone calls, but don't do any real celebrating of Christmas anymore. I'm pretty much apatheist now.

oh yes. That's its specialty. Ok so during a Mercury retrograde these are the things that typically happen
1). it causes electrical things to go haywire especially anything computer related due to the electrical; malfunction plus the added layer of the 2nd thing on the list as well
2) communication problems ,misunderstandings. Note- worst time to enter into any kind of legal contract or binding agreement
3) delays with travel of any kind...emaning even when driving from one place to another
4) accidents are more likely and so are tickets
5). unresolved past issues coming up for completion, whether you like it or not

Many naysayers poo poo the power of the retrograde but if you look at when the retrogrades occur you wil in fact noticea serious increase in these things and no...I do not thing that is a co-incidence. At the end of the say we are ALL in charge of our own lives and destinies BUT it is always a good idea to be ENTRA careful, allow extra time for ANY kind of travel, be extra thorough in explainaing or communicating or questioning a person or contract and just basically be EXTRA prepared to avoid the things that the allignment can bring into ones life. I recently picked up the term reading an article on Christopher Hitchens' passing. One of those "Hey, that's me" kinda moments. Especially the "Indifference" part of Wikipedia's entry. (I'm just not a fan of how intrusive and bigoted some believers apply their religion towards others. That's just not cool.)
