I think Ive figured out why Lemuix came back. The game today is just so goddam great! All these retired players must be bummed because now the game is more faster, physical, and better rules. Now defenders can finish their checks and the snipers can breakaway without the 2-line pass rule.

Lately Ive been having trouble watching my other favorite sport which is NFL and I cannot appreciate it anymore. I guess I feel like the NFL is too soft and full of clown athletes. It makes me appreciate the NHL so much more.

Kovalev will be the star of this All-Star week-end ! You guys will see something really special !

Ottawa Senators have sent Martin Gerber on the waivers...

...if anyone pick him, i swear that i will reconsider my hockey knowledge :1orglaugh

Gerber will be playing in Russia KHL as soon as Ottawa will buy out his contract, in my opinion.

man, what the hell happened to Gerber? he played so well last year that he took over as #1 from Ray Emery and now he's on waivers.

oh there's no denying we've got the talent. it's just taken a while for it all to fall into place and all the guys to click. it seems to be working now.

i'm still surprised at how underrated Mike Smith is. the guy is unbelievable

I'm sure the whole league will have to recognize Mike Smith as a great goalie soon enough , the only thing he doesn't have is enough wins. I have to thank jay Feaster again for getting him because he's going to be one of the best in the league for years to come.

OMIGOD! OMIGOD! OMIGOD!

Tampa Bay Lightning winger Martin St. Louis has answered the call to join defending champion Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals and three other puck-handling wizards in Saturday's Scotiabank Fan Fav NHL Breakaway Challenge.

Why in the hell do replays have to go back to Toronto?

because they have a group of NHL officials that sit around in a room full of monitors with every possible angle to see what happened in the play.

there's a room in the arenas where they do that, but Toronta has THE facility to determine what happened

I find it hard to belive that it can not be done on site. Now it's like electing a pope behind closed doors. It looks like deals are made.

They get it wrong so many times in Toronto that it really calls into question the legitimacy of the process.

the arenas just don't have the call making abilities that Toronta has been set up to have :dunno:

Nikkala made me do it!
On top of that, Datsyuk and Lidstrom just got suspended one game each for not participating in mandatory All-Star activities. :nono:

what about Crosby? that is the most ridiculous pile of shit i've ever heard.

It's a ridiculous new rule that if players skip the All-Star Game they're required to sit out the first game back following the All-Star Game. In Crosby's case, he's sitting out due to a legitimate injury, therefore the rule doesn't apply to him. In my opinion that's complete bullshit (pardon the cursing, sometimes it's necessary), Lidstrom and Datsyuk are playing THROUGH injuries and don't want to aggravate anything for a meaningless game. Last year Shawn Horcoff of the Oilers was injured DURING the All-Star Game and missed the rest of the year as a result. The only reason why they're saying Crosby's is a legitimate injury is because he's the golden boy of the NHL, or at least that's what the NHL wants him to be, so they aren't going to force him to miss any games. Personally, I think if Datsyuk and Lidstrom are forced to sit then Crosby definitely should be as well.

Pardon the straightforwardness, but I highly doubt you're speaking from experience or knowledge with this statement. The mistakes that have been made have almost never been made by the people in Toronto. When a call is sent to Toronto they almost always get it right. If you'd care to tell me what mistakes you're referring to, perhaps it will lend more credence to your statement.

exactly. even though i'm not a Red Wings fan, that's infuriating. why should they risk further injury to themselves in a game that doesn't count toward standings?

The rule doesn't apply to Crosby because he actually showed up in Montreal today. Datsyuk and Lidstrom didn't. Come on, man ... get over your blind Crosby hatred already.
