Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
I will always remember Malik for refusing to fight Keith Tcachuk in Raleigh one afternoon. Keith was calling him out right in front of the Canes bench and Malik just skated in circles avoiding any kind of confrontation.

Umm...

Marek Malik has 5 points in 42 games this year..his greatest accomplishment in his career is the under-the-leg shootout move he did for the Rangers...he's garbage

Meszaros, 16 points in 52 games...overpaid

Mike Smith was 14-18-11 before he got hurt...decent save % and GA, but he's never played more than 23 games in a season (besides this one) so it's hard to tell if he's going to be consistant

Murphey is decent

I know you're a TB fan, but saying they have no D or proven goaltending is NOT ridiculous

i'm not talking about points scored by them, i'm talking about their help on the blue line (which, since we didn't start out with most of them, explains Smitty's numbers). without them we allow way too many shots on net.

and Smitty has a playing style that blows Luongo out of the water and can play the puck better than him too. once he's healthy (probably next season) it'll be plain as day. Smith > Luongo.

:thumbsup:Smith Is light years in front of Luongo for playing the puck ( Luongo just sucks at it ).Next year people will finally have to learn who Mike Smith is because he will be among the best in the league.

Maybe so, but Luongo has this strange ability to keep the puck out of the net that Smith just doesn't seem to have.

If thats the way it is? how does the puck keep him from the other side of the ice? because he wont move into the lane to receed from being in. so it happens the puck came across that certain area more then usual. The odds are leaning towards the puck hitting his right skate and going offsides. one score victory for the other team.

I'm not only talking about points either (27th ranked D).

As for the Smith/Luongo comparisons....

Smith = 27 years old
Luongo = 29 years old

Smith = 41 career wins
Luongo = 225 career wins (mostly with a useless Florida team)

Smith might be a good goalie with a lot of potential, but Luongo is a VERY good goalie that still has potential.

Before you make that ridiculous "Smith>Luongo" statement again, you might want to take a look at this...

You guys are so blindly biased towards the Lightning it is unbelievable. You can be a fan and still admit the supremacy of other players.

Smith is no where near Luongo. Smith is no where near Toskala. Smith is no where near Vokoun. He is a backup mistaken for a starter. I'd probably even take Osgood over Smith. :confused:

Wow you really know how to make a guy laugh his ass off.I agree that Smith is not at Luongo's level yet but comparing him to Toskala and Osgood ? :1orglaugh Vokoun is a very good goalie but Toskala and Osgood ..... to think that you would take these guys before Mike Smith blows my mind.

Guarenteed if Smith wasn't a Lightning you wouldn't even notice him.

Goalies are so unconsistant it's hard to tell who's going to be great. One year they're the next Patrick Roy, the next year GMs can't give them away for a draft pick.

Comparing Smith to Toskala and Osgood makes way more sense than comparing him to Luongo. Osgood has three Stanley Cups under his belt and could very well add another one this year. I know he's not having a great season in terms of GAA and SV%, but were you watching hockey at all last season. He was one of the best in the NHL and not for the first time. Smith still has a long ways to go to be considered in the same league as Osgood even. He might have had better stats this season, but he still isn't even a winner, and that's what it's all about. Luongo led the Panthers to a few winning seasons and he didn't have nearly as much talent to help him along the way as Smith does in Tampa.

Albeit Osgood hasn't got a good ( 3.18 gga) or (.884 sv.%) this year. he's still got a 24-6-7 record behind an average @ best defense this year. oh yeah and ummm. 3 stanley cup rings, 2 of which he won while safe keeping the goal while the REDWINGS won lord stanley chalice and (Osgood) also has a 3rd CHAMIPIONSHIP RING as a back up to mike veron in 1997.

So yeah maybe Osgood hasn't had a stellar year. But I don't think you can just disregard a 3 time stanley cup champion to that of a goalie who hasn't done anything special yet. :rolleyes::eek:

p.s. BTW, I am not even that big of a fan of Osgood he is too streaky IMO. but he is a proven $ time goalie. :yesyes:

Jesus, I'm watching the Montreal/Tampa game and MTL has has about 6 good chances to score but they couldn't tuck them home. They got about 3 posts and 3 pucks hop over their sticks on those cross ice one-timers.

I'm hoping TB wins in regulation because I want to Sens to make it in the playoffs....even though it's a very long shot.

apparently there are more rumors in the Montreal area about Lecavalier going to the Canadiens before his no trade clause and his new contract kick in on July 1st. good god, Montreal, get over it. Vinny is staying in Tampa Bay
