NHL '09/'10 Season Thread

Toronto and Edmonton - Tied for fewest wins in the league, both bottom of their conferences.

I think Toronto's trades will have virtually no impact on this season. WTF is it going to take to make significant changes there?

Tampa Bay defeats Atlanta 2-1 in a nice victory for us.

Niittymaki is now 16-0-0 against the Thrashers in his career and his GAA is still just 1.86

since i can't edit my last post, his GAA is actually 1.74 with a .939 SV% against Atlanta. Thrasher fans, can you spell "domination"?

A goalie who can catch might help for Toronto. Damn it I can feel the tears welling up in my eyes already.

Please Toronto I'm begging you.:crying:

TSN is reporting Kovalchuk was told he would be traded within the next couple of days; as early as tonight. I don't want to see him leave Atlanta, but it I had to choose another team for him, the list would be one team long: Los Angeles.

Radio is reporting that my Blue Jackets fired Ken Hitchcock.

In my opinion, that's not a good idea. Hitchcock was the man who built the Blue Jackets up into a playoff team.

Atlanta needs to fold. Same with Florida. You don't build a contender and a fanbase by trading away your best players. Fuck those teams.

And it looks like Columbus will be stuck in mediocrity for a while longer. Nash will never win a Stanley Cup there.

I could not agree more. Front office has been drafting divas that don't want to play the type of smash mouth gaem that is required in the West.

I was planning on going to tonight's game against Dallas, since yeaterday, I just don't feel like it.

story going around is Kovalchuk turned down a 12 year $101,000,000 contract offer from Atlanta. i can completely understand his thought process. if you're not happy playing on a do-nothing team in a city that could care less about hockey, why stay?

i expect him to go to a team like New Jersey, or Chicago. God forbid Washington figures out a way to afford him, they're too damn good as it is.

Calling my Blue Jackets mediocre is an insult to mediocre.

LOL. Don't get your hopes up on landing Shea Weber. The Predators wouldn't trade him.

Sadly I agree , If Nashville where to trade Shae Weber , they would want a top six forward in exchange and the only one the Lightning have that they wouldn't mind trading would be Alex Tanguay. I really doubt that they would make a Weber for Tanguay deal. They would probably ask for Ryan Malone and I don't think it's worth it even if it's for a great defenseman like Weber.

I wonder who New Jersey was willing to give up. Any of their defencemen will give Atlanta a huge boost, in any case.

At least he didn't go to Chicago.

Rangers just played one hell of a game against the Caps. Im so fucking proud even though they lost 6-5 final. You had to see Alex O's goal......he deeked the defender right by the net and chipped it in,one fucking handed.

He got his 500th point tonight too, in just 5 seasons

the Lightning ownership saga appears to be ending. there are reports that the sale is basically done. more to come in the next couple days i'm sure. anyway:

Tampa Bay 5, New York Islanders 2

Tampa really rallied and fought back hard after that abysmal first half of the second period
