The Flyers managed to throw Montreal off their game tonight. They crowded the net and drew the Montreal defence out into bad positions. Flyers easily won this game for themselves, but it was Montreal's fault that it was a blowout. They made way too many mistakes tonight, and it seemed like everyone of them lead to a goal. Good job by Leighton though. Hard to believe he was on the injured list last week.

Just say it Montreal choked. Rod won't yell at ya.

I said it, Montreal only faced a hot goalie 3 times before last night's game. When the opposing team's goalie does the job like Leighton did last night , they have absolutely no chance to win because they don't have that good of a team. And also when they get hit a lot , you really see how small a team they are. So if Philadelphia keeps playing the way they have last night , I don't see how Montreal can get through that series.

Someone at Versus or the NHL ( I think they share the same brain ) figured out that having two games on at the same time is not a good idea. After tomorrow's games they will alternate days. Starting Friday there will be a game everyday. Ofcourse this won't matter a whole lot if Montreal continues to play the way they did yesterday. Was little worried because when they get back to Chicago there would only be a one hour difference in start time.

Anybody paying attention to the Memorial Cup?? Windsor is dominating. They beat Brandon Wheat Kings 9-3 and tonight they beat the Calgary Hitmen 6-2. Clinched a spot in the Final and will be ready to repeat!!!! Windsor Represent!!!

Taylor Hall is upping his profile by the day. He'll probably end up getting drafted first overall after all. As an Oilers fan, I would be OK with that, but I would still prefer Tyler Seguin, I think. That's not set in stone yet though.

The Czechs beat Canada 3-2 at the Worlds today. It doesn't really matter if the WC is irrelevant. A 3-3 record for a Canadian team is inexcusable. We are treating this tournament like it is nothing and we are going to pay for it when we play Russia.

You guys got enough talent you should be able to send a juniors team over there and still compete.

None of our best players want to go. Russia always gets all of their best players to go, so big deal if they win. Varlamov, Gonchar, Ovechkin, Malkin, Datsyuk, Frolov, and Semin ALL went for the Russians. We beat them 7-3 with our best on their best on the biggest stage. An annual tournament that goes on during the NHL postseason. Who cares? I guess the Russians are interested in going so much because they see it as their only opportunity to actually beat us. In best-on-bests Russia has done close to nothing, while Canada has two of the last three Olympics golds (only the last four have been true best-on-bests), the most recent World Cup, four of the five Canada Cups, and the '72 Summit Series. Russia is so overrated.

P.S. Look at the goalies we sent: Chris Mason (OK, maybe as the third guy if we're desperate), Chad Johnson (who?), and Devan Dubnyk (4-10-2, 3.57 GAA, .889 SV%). No wonder our team is losing.

It's also on their continent. That critical.

The opening games of round 3 were on a Sunday no harm done in opening the third round with two games so long as they didn't over-lap or compete with each other which they didn't. :2 cents:

Go Hawks!

I hear ya Rod. It's like I said earlier; we got the Stanley Cup, Europe has the World Cup. The World Cup going on right now is just stupid.

Oh, I know. There was some real bad scheduling in the first two rounds, especially in the secound. I was worried the stupidity was going to carry over.

Actually I am heading up to Manchester right now to catch game 4 of the Monarchs vs Hershey in the eastern conference finals for the Calder Cup. You gotta love the AHL
