executive orders

It's true Obama might get re-elected and you might have to put up with things you don't like for another 4 years, but don't forget the other side had the same situation with W for the full 8. Even in America we can't all have everything we want all the time.

The thing about executive orders is they can be overturned by the next guy. Right now they're reacting to Jared Loughner and the Drug Wars in Mexico. There's also a law enforcement component in some of the other more local, municipal issues like in NYC.

As an American you have recourse through the political system, and last time I checked, the Tea Party, a very effective political movement, has your back. You have a voice and you have some power in this issue.

Problem is, gun ownership, ISN'T a privilege, IT IS, a right. A right guaranteed to you, under the Constitution, and when Politicians manipulate, and usurp that document, they exhibit TOTAL and COMPLETE disregard for you, for your rights, for those that have fought and died for them, and for the responsibilities of their office.

We've put up with "not liking" things for too many years...we shouldn't have to fear our Government, they should fear us!

Settling, is getting real old, real quick...on most subjects, not just gun control, or the extent of your rights as a gun owner.

To many politicians, have made a career out of politics, and it needs to stop. They our the employees of the American tax payer, and need to conduct themselves as such.

 The right to bear arms. We don't need a license.

We need term limits. No more career politicians.

What we're debating is the details of that right, not the right itself. With that said, you make a very good point about the anti-tyranny element of the Second Amendment. If the populace is not allowed the same firepower as the Government, it undermines their ability to stand against tyranny.

But why do I have to make this point for you? Possible because your stance is so reactionary, and this issue so emotional for you, that it inhibits your ability to think clearly. You guys tend to undermine yourselves more than the left ever could imo. :2 cents:

^^^ Exactly ^^^

Bitch, bitch, bitch. In the words of the immortal PlasmaTwa2, "Sometimes you just gotta lay down and take it like a woman."

We enjoy the highest quality of life in human history so our system must be getting something right.

There is a much stronger push against gay marriage than there is against gun control - and those against gay marriages are much more powerful than those against gun control. Is marriage also a right, which also should be shared by all consenting adults?

My opinion is, that would fall under the category of "The right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". Personally, I have no problem with gay marriage, abortion, or anything else that is a "moral" issue, as defined by the bible thumpers. I am of the opinion that, there are FAR more important things for our politicians to be concentrating on, at this point in our countries history, then what people want to do, in their own homes, or that mainly effect their own lives. I know that there are other connected issues, to the above issues....healthcare costs, etc., but in the simplest terms, I am classifying them as such, for the purposes of this post.
