New York to Host 2014 Super Bowl

I like this idea. Most AFC and NFC championships are played in cold weather, why not play the Super Bowl. It can really show how wants it more
I like the idea of New York hosting it. I do not like the idea of New Jersey hosting it.
Dumb idea. It will fail spectacularly. Probably 20 inches of snow will dump down on the region..
With the way the NFL wants to bloat out and expand the Preseason, I have no doubt that they will stretch out the playoffs as much as they can. Maybe this Superbowl will be played in March :dunno:
The NFL kind of has figured out the longer the season lasts, the more people pay attention to and spend money on all things NFL :dunno:

People pay attention to it anyway, even when it's the offseason. Hell, we're here debating about where the Super Bowl is gonna be played, and it's for some reason it's a big deal; meanwhile the NBA and NHL playoffs are going on, and the World Cup is a few weeks away. I mean, who the hell cares?

I don't care I'll be home watching it on tv. Paying thousands to attend a game that could have terrible conditions in ur new fur coat or something. Not good
you have to play in some of the worse conditions in the playoffs to even get to the superbowl so i say why not play the biggest game of the season outside too.

If football was played in more extreme weather conditions that would be great. I would watch that. This indoor stadium stuff is silly. I miss watching football with the mud, rain, snow, wind, and all that good stuff.

Canadians know nothing but cold/cool weather.
When Canadians play in Miami in 100 degree weather with no wind, then we will agree to play a Superbowl in snow and 20 degree weather.

Piss and moan, piss and moan. Christ...grow a pair. Cold weather is not that bad. You could not shell out enough $$$ for me to live in humid Florida, ever. Anyone here deal with that shit down there knows what I am talking about. It's just disgusting.
Personally, I think the teams that earn their way into the big game were the ones who got the big game, but for some reason $$$'s are more important. Probably why the "big game" is usually the worst game of the year. It's nothing more than a spectacle to make $$$. :2 cents:

Let me start with I am from the NY area (live in Jersey about 50 miles from NYC) and am a fan of the NY Giants, so I may be biased.
On things like sports I am old school.Professional sports like football and baseball both started out as northeastern to central US based sports mainly.Teams rode trains and visited places like NYC,Phi,Boston,Cleveland,Balt,Chicago,St louis,Detroit,Milwaukee etc.
Football is played right when its played in one of the northern cities in the winter with no dome.Before the advent of the AFL and "Super Bore" lol their was just the NFL championship game which was played in one of the 2 teams fields.Some great games were played outdoors in the weather.
Add the big predicted ratings as the NY area is the biggest media market and you have another reason why NY is getting the game.
The dream is that the game is between the Giants and the Jets.

For some reason I find the SB anti-climatic and haven't seen it for 3 seasons. The cNFLonference championship games seem more intense as the teams fight to get into the superbowl. Too much hype for me. But all NFL cities should be allowed to host a Super Bowl.
