1978 it was pretty cool stuff, edgy, fine band with some of the best guitar work in the classic The Kinks meets 70's hard rock mode. After Diver Down, I dropped out of the gig, I was a very young guy back then, but they were "IT" for awhile, I moved onto post-punk soon after. But they were a great band from time to time till the Van Hagar deal.

The best thing to do is give it a chance. It really doesn't hurt anything. They've rocked hard once. No reason not to give them the benfit of the doubt.

Good point. For all this "greatest guitar player in the world" crap, why doesn't he release solo work? It's always got to be "Van Halen" with some hack vocalist with a pre-teen mentality.

I saw Van Halen live about 4-5 years ago. It was awful and embarrassing.
