New Old School RPGs?

Is there any new old schoold RPGs made?

The last one i'm aware of is Wizardry 8 which is awesome but... i've grown tired to play it over and over.

Any suggestions?

I don't understand your question. Do you mean updated remakes?

How old is Old School? Wizardry is pretty old no? I recently played a bunch of SNES rpg's on my computer with an SNES emulator. Chrono Trigger!

Well, it is a remake, but Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen was recently released for the DS. I'm still trying to find a copy of that game.

You see, this is one reason I want Mega Man 9 to be a hit, so it'll give other developers reason to make old-school games. Some more RPGs in the style of the NES games would be nice.

I think I know what you mean. I'm a young guy, but even I find the complexity of today's games slighty off-putting. I grew up in the era of the NES, SNES and Genesis, I'll always be more drawn to games of that era. Thank goodness those classics still live on through emulators, compilation titles, etc, otherwise I probably wouldn't play games at all.

Just played through Final Fantasy 3 (VI) for the upteenth time recently and I still love it. Just goes to show how timeless a good story is.

I wonder if my brother has bought it yet. DWIV might have been the best RPG released for the NES--with DWIII being a close second. Bigger and funner world than FFI. Updated releases of the original FF Legend GameBoy games would be interesting.
