New FreeOnes Feature!! The Babe Wiki!

I'm very happy to announce our latest new feature to FreeOnes.com! The Babe Wiki!

As some of you who regularly submitted missing or corrected babe information to the Webmaster knows, getting it put up could take some time. Especially as we were getting a dozen or more emails a day, just in regards biographies. So, in response we have created the Babe Wiki which allows YOU to update a biography yourself! No more waiting on us!

On top of being allowed to edit a babe's information yourself, if you're a MyFreeOnes user you can earn FreeOnes Points if your entry is accepted! Just make sure you're logged into your MyFreeOnes account before you make a change! If you're not a MyFreeOnes user yet, head on over to sign up for your free account so you can start reaping the benefits NOW!

So, onto the Babe Wiki! Using this tool is pretty easy. First go to a babe's section and click on the Check out her Biography icon. In this example I used the biography for Lea Lexus.

Once you've clicked on the Biography icon, her biography will pop up. If you have new or corrected information for the babe, then you can click the Edit Here link. This is located in the upper right hand corner and at the very bottom of the biography.

After clicking on the Edit Here link, you're brought to the edit screen. Here you'll find text fields for all the information you can edit. Once you're done editing the babe's information, click the Change button at the very bottom of the page and all of your changes will go into a queue to be approved.

So, it's really that easy! No longer do you have to wait on us to make the changes that you mail in, but you can do it yourself!

Here are some Tips to help your entry get approved faster:

• Try to make sure you're using correct information and list the source. You can do this by entering where you found the information in the very last box of the edit page.
  
• Please don't copy/paste information directly from other sites.
  
• Capitalize names, places, and the first word in a sentence.
  
• Don't enter the babe's official site or MySpace into the Fan Club box. If her official site isn't in her babe section yet, you can write us at webmaster@freeones.com so we can get it listed.
  
• Remember, FreeOnes staff has the right to change any entry made and to change the amount of points or withhold points for an entry at any time.
  
• Please be patient! You will receive an email (if you leave it for us) when your entry has been processed!

I have a general question that I always wondered about.

This "Province / State" option. Is this the Province / State where the girl was born or where she lives now?

Okay. I just wondered, because there is a German girl and I know the state (Bundesland) where she was born and where she lives now. So I didnt know which one I should enter there. :o

Wouldn't it be simpler to just interface it with a plain Wiki and people can add whatever information they want? It's a lot more flexible and potentially a lot more useful. The biography can be included as a template.

Allthough I like wikipedia and alike the problem in this business is that people will abuse it and would spam their links all the time.

Perhaps, but any decent Wiki implementation allows rollbacks. Even fairly minor restrictions on editing rights would take care of most problems and the rest would police itself. If you're going to allow users to edit information anyway, why not make it a proper system?

I agree with Roald, and think your underestimating the capacity for the people in the adult industry. With an adult business that has a large popular true wiki at it's disposal I can see it becoming with a far more likelihood for disaster than almost all the other wikis out there. Not even just from the fans, but even more likely the people in the industry. The amount of people out there in the business with a vendetta against somebody else in the industry is almost uncountable. It's the same with the number of people that are willing to shamelessly and deceptively pimp their product or try to get freebies. Monitoring it could turn into a nightmare.

It took me over a year just to add one more field to my personal pornstar database. It only has 6000 pornstars in it. I can't imagine trying to update a database the size of Freeones. So this is a great idea, although since someone still has to check the information to approve it, I don't see the workload for the person in charge of the database being reduced all that much. After all, the major portion of the workload is in the research, which you still have to do to find out that the information the member submitted is accurate.
