I have never been a fan of having the faces of men (country founders/leaders notwithstanding) on a country's currency.

The currency ought to have symbols of the ideals the country stands for and representations of critical moments in the country's history.

The best way IMO to at least try and keep people abreast of what their nation stands for.

That said, the designs of those I see at the link seem to represent what progressives want or at least slanted that way.

Want to help the American economy? Make a 1 and 5 dollar coin, and cancel the 10$ bill. People hate having coins in their pockets, but paper money wears out so fast.

I don't remember the exact numbers, but Canada saved millions of dollars in the first couple of years of having coins instead of lower denomination bills.
