I just read about an upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie, and as much as I disliked the first one, I'm still excited about this. As a *** I played a good deal of D&D, and I have also very much enjoyed games like Baldur's Gate, as I have a soft spot for such fantasy worlds and D&D in general.
The new movie is going to be based on what was my favorite series of books in the Dragonlance world, which is much better than what was attempted in the other movie. It's also going to be animated, and I think that's a good choice, as a regular movie would easily become too expensive and have crappy settings and effects.
I was surprised to see that I actually knew who some of the people doing the voices are, as I guess I was expecting them to cast some unknown actors for such a movie. I'm not sure about having Kiefer Sutherland do the voice of Raistlin though. I really just think of Jack Bauer's voice compared to my own image of what Raistlin should look and sound like, and they just don't match IMO.
