NES Classic Edition console

If the controllers are any good I might pick this up partly for that. Aftermarket controllers for the NES suck and I've had to resort to buying old ones secondhand. Hopefully they make the new ones for this with the quality of the old ones.

I think this will be a pretty cool gift of nostalgia to have. I'm definitely gonna try and get one.

I still have my NES so no big deal for me. I still play it and have a ton of games ;)

I'm lost for words...

5 minutes later, yes, I will buy one, maybe even 2, one to keep it it's box and look perfect

Only 30 games pre-installed can be played...guess thats not bad for the price.
Would loved to have seen some of my other favourites on the list; Blades of Steel, Crash 'N The Boys, Nes Open, Faxanadu, Contra and/or Super Contra.

I am sure there will be expansions or new versions out. I haven't seen how this little one works, but I am certain this will take off and demand will cause more to come out. As for me, I have those game on cartridge already ;)

Well, except Crash N The Boys, I don't think I've played that one.

Was anyone able to get the NES Classic Edition? Every place I checked were already sold out. Very disappointing but I hope Nintendo will release more.

I wasn't able to get one. The whole artificially induced scarcity done by Nintendo is annoying. From what I understand I also don't think there will be an easy way to put more games on it, which means they will probably want to sell you another one latter that has some of them that are missing with this one.

Your right D-rock, it's extremely annoying the initial limited release. According to Nintendo, they are planning to release more NES Classic Edition consoles for the holiday rush and into 2017 as well.

Shortages everywhere. It's Amiibos all over again. Either they underestimated or they're artificially inflating demand. They're either incompetent or despicable; it's bad either way.

Personally I don't get the attraction, at the very least there should have been a way to add games. And that's not to mention the other cheaper ways to play NES games.

It does have some advantages. For people that don't want to take the time and effort, not to mention cash, to build up an old NES collection it's an easy and relatively cheap way to start, and you can get a new system. Although a lot of that is diminished by the fact you can't add more games on it. It also has modern connections for televisions made today and runs at 60 fps. Plus, for people that care about such issues it's not technically illegal like playing ROMs on emulators.

Another negative about it I have found is the cord for the controller is ridiculously short. It's too bad because one of the things I was looking forward to was getting new well working controllers for the NES games. My old originals I had to buy used are really starting to wear out, and aftermarket NES controllers are known for having bad quality. I'm sure there's some adapter out there to make them longer, but still it's just a stupid thing to do on Nintendo's part.

The cord is just terrible. So fucking short. Though I am sure they will sell some extensions or wireless ones at some point.

Too bad this is impossible to find. I'd really have liked to get one...

Me too. The roll-out of this was a complete joke. The demand from customers to get one was there and still is.
