Need some techincal help

Hi, I've been reading these boards for a while but have never posted. I have a bit of a technical issue with my porn viewing... about half the videos I click on don't work, they just appear in weird, bright colors, usually neon green or purple.

THe sound works fine and the basic image is there, just horribly miscoloured. I recentely reformatted my hard drive and had not had these problems before then. I have tried using windows media player, divx, and other random ones, and the problem persists, though with frustratingly randomness. I'm pretty sure its a driver problem, but i'm not sure to to obtain said driver. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I'm not sure of these are the right boards (I usually stick to the pics and the vids :glugglug: ). If they aren't I apologize and ask to be directed to the correct area. Thanks in advance!

I think you're on the right lines, have you got a graphics card and with the latest drivers, if your graphics card is years old or its 'on-board graphics' then you will definitely be experiencing problems. type a search into yahoo or goggle for the manufacturer of the gpu and download and install the driver.

have you installed the latest divx, xvid etc codecs?

Also you need to install quicktime 7.1 as well as to install nero showtime for viewing special files format and wmp 11 for viewing the standard files format.

Sometimes to view the videos and such, you will need all the latest updates - from your graphics card, to all the latest movie watching software ie Windows Media, divx.

Are you using the latest version of internet explorer to download them?

Download and install the k-lite codec pack.

Should resolve any problems with missing codecs Iif that's your problem. Also gives you the option of installing Windows Media Player Classic, which plays just about everything.

I downloaded both the k-lite mega pack and the k-lite codec pack. Both didnt seem to work unfortunately. My graphics card is fairly new. I bought it last summer and it was average to above average at the time. I figure that since i use it for gaming it should be able to handle some porn.

On a side note, sometimes when i click a link and windows media player pops up, its all distorted like normal. However, when i right click and do a "save target as" and then open it saved, it works like normal. This however only works on some files, not all.

And finally upon further inspection, I seem to have the most problems with WMV files. MPEGs work fine most of the time, and WMVs work very rarely. Even with Window Media player classic, the WMV was still distorted.

Oh.... apparently I needed to download Windows media player 10, and or restart my computer after donwloading all those codecs. Thanks for the help guys.
