Hey Guys,

I need some help with photoshop and thought I may have some helpers here.

I am just looking to resize a folder of pics to make them all 1 MB or less. I want to do it as a batch instead of one by one.

Please message me if you can assist. I will hook you up with a pass to my site.

I don't exactly remember how, but I could get Photoshop again and check.

Do like this: Open one of the images. Duplicate the layer into a new document (right-click on the layer and choose "duplicate layer"). Close the original image. Make an action and start recording it. Resize the image. Save your image (use "Save as"), make sure that it´s saved as a copy (the filename should be something like "Untitled-2 copy.jpg"). Close the document. Stop recording the action.
To batch resize the images: File/Automate/Batch. Set your source and destination folders, and you´re done. If you have images with different height/width ratio you might have to make an action for every ratio. I use an old version of Photoshop, so things might be slightly different in newer versions.

A small and simple image viewer, IrfanView would work too. However, you need both IrfanView and its plugins package installed for this. The needed plugin is named RIOT (included in the iv_formats zip file), but it's easiest to just install the full plugin package.

File -> Batch Conversion -> Select JPG as output format -> Options (the button right next to the output format selection dropdown). In the window that opens there are options for JPEG and GIF pictures. The bottom option for JPEG reads "Set file size" where you can enter the desired target image size in KB, so make sure to check the checkbox next to it and enter 1000 to that field. Then just add the files that you want to convert, set the "Output directory for result files" and click "Start Batch".
