Nba Ball--back To Leather

David Stern will announce this week that teams will begin to use the old ball starting January 1st

What are your opinions on this situation?? I thought for sure that they'd stick with the composite ball but due to the lawsuits launched the league seems to be back-tracking

At least we'll be seeing a 'regular' looking ball again, the design to the new one was a joke

Yeah they'll scrap that idea. They will be doing away with skates,gloves,helmets,ice,and any other sort of excitement that Bettman hasn't already sucked out of the game.

Well, it was mostly people who were complaining about the performance into the game. The composite ball had much less of the late game grip compared to the leather ball, which was a big matter with some of the people with the loudest voices, especially Shaq. Among other things, I thought it was a great ball.

Ray Allen of my Sonics was a vocal opponent of the new ball. It will be interesting to see if his 3 point shooting percentage goes up now, it's hovering around 32% now or if the ball was just an excuse. He is a great pure shooter so we will see.

Awww, poor babies whined till they got what they wanted. Play with the ball you are given and shut the hell up you overpayed twits. If you are a pro you should be able to play with whatever the NBA puts out there.

I love the NBA but I thought the players came off as big cry babys when it comes to this. I have seen some great shooting late in the game even with the new ball. I think the players were just to scared to get used to it.

Agreed. Although I wouldnt come to *your* job and tell you just to do it and skip the complaints.. people who make more in a year than I will in 5 years.. just.. f!ck 'em. Put up with changes like the REST of us poor schmucks have to!

Ditto my the first part of this reply, but they're just responding like the rest of us do when changes are made. (which're usually motivated by profit and thinktanks who dont know what the f!ckity f!ck they're talking about!) Kicking and screaming.
