NBA 10'/11' Thread.

T-Mac and Raja Bell look like they'll be Lakers pretty soon. Hopefully Fisher signs too. I'm afraid I'll lose a shitload of respect for one of my favourite players of all time if he decides to sign in Miami. I think he's just using them as a bargaining chip to get some money out of L.A.

In other news, Jordan Farmar signed with the New Jersey Nets. Good riddance.

I have mixed feelings about that.
Granted he's never going to be a premier PG but I did kind of like him as a backup in Jackson's offensive scheme. He seemed to improve his game a little bit from year to year. He's a pretty gutty player, an ok shooter, hustles on defense, plus he's an L.A. native.
 
im sad to see the pistons will be a basement team for years and did nothing in trades to get better .
but im really looking forward to to the 2010/2011 season

Do you watch summer league games?

Today the Knicks take on the Lakers at 4:00 (east coast time) look for two former NYC-area high school stars Devin Ebanks & Derrick Caracter. both have been impressive in the Lakers first two games.

Agreed, apparently they think the team just had some bad luck last year, no need to do anything...our luck will turn around!

If that's true about Bell and muh boy T-Mac, those are good moves. Quietly, the Lakers and Magic are loading up on quality players. I'm just sad Barnes is just about gone.

I don't get a chance to see any summer league games, but I've heard a lot of good things about those two guys. I'm hoping they both make the team.

Heat sign Haslem.

Good to see some people value loyalty.

Suns acquired Turkoglu and Josh Childress in a 4 team swap with Toronto, Charlotte and Atlanta. Raptors got Boris Diaw and Leandro Barbosa. Charlotte got Jose Calderon, and I'm not sure what else happened.

Chris Paul has kind of fallen down the "Superstar" ladder...he's a rung or three below Kevin Durant on the ********* Star Power List...

A move to the Knicks would be a good thing, but the Knicks need more to compete...maybe Melo in 2011? :dunno:

Big markets succeeding is always a good thing, but what about the other 25 teams? What about the fans of teams like Milwaukee, Atlanta, Sacramento, New Orleans and Toronto that know their teams will never win? They will lose interest. That is not good for the league. I'm a huge Laker fan, but I'm a bigger basketball fan and I would love to see some parity in the NBA.

I'd love Paul too, but I'd prefer to send Bynum out for him. Word is if someone wants Paul, they have to take Omeka Okafor's contract too and that's about $33 million in contracts L.A would have to take on. I doubt Buss wants to pay those luxury taxes, but you never know. :D

I think Orlando has more to offer. Gortat, Nelson, Lewis, Reddick, Pietrus etc. New York has nothing to offer. If he wanted to go to New York, he'd shut up and play his final year in New Orleans and bolt.

I don't know if Paul has fallen down that ladder, or Durant has rocketed up it. He should have been MVP last year, and WILL be MVP next year. He'll average over 30 ppg and Portland fans will **** themselves. Again. :rofl:

I'm calling it now...if L.A doesn't win the West, OKC will.

Watching the UCLA Dynasty HBO special. The Bill Walton story. Very interesting. The way Walton fought with Wooden during the Sixties and Seventies.
 
If the Lakers get Chris Paul, let's just give them the championship now. If the Knicks do, woo-hoo, they are now an average team. If the Mavs get him, they are then 2nd best in the West. If the Magic get him, WE are the favorites in the East, not Miami (though we should be anyway....).

Apparently the Lakers were not on his list of preferred teams. Dallas and Portland have been added to his list though.
 
Lakers signed Matt Barnes. What's your ring size my man?? Kobe, Artest, Barnes, Blake and Vujacic? This has to be the best group of individual defenders in the league.

Lakers also signed Theo Ratliff. Quality insurance for the inevitable Bynum knee injury. And if not, good leadership on the bench.

This Laker squad will be exponentially deeper than last year. 3 peat.
 
The Knicks have extended an offer to Shannon Brown and are waiting to hear whether he will take it. or wait for L.A. to make room to re-sign him by trading Sasha grey :D


L.A. moving Vujacic's $5.4 million salary for next season would ease the tax hit associated with keeping brown.
