Why exactly are you fishing for a response?
Anyway, I'll oblige. Miami has not been anywhere near consistent, and haven't shown me that they can be. The reason is because the supporting cast is trash. The Bulls are much, much more of a complete team, and it shows. Chicago can beat the better teams, Miami cannot. This is proven. The Heat lost games that they tried their damnedest to win, and haven't gotten past working solely through the Big 3. This method is good enough to beat mediocre teams, but not the best.
It's not exactly true that you don't win championships based on the regular season, because you can't get to the playoffs without performing at least somewhat well in the regular season. How many 8, 7, or 6 seeds have won it all?
Exactly.
So being a top 10 team overall after the regular season means a lot. It's easy to look past this and make excuses when your favorite team is underachieving. You can have all the veteran leadership, intangibles and other bullshit you want, but if you cannot execute consistently and efficiently, all that other shit is pointless. Miami has not done this against the better teams in the league, and there is no other way to cut it. Buts, ifs, maybes, and could've been's aside, they have not been proven to be a better team than the Chicago Bulls. Are they better than the Los Angeles Lakers?
They may be, seeing as how the only way to determine this is to play. They've done that. Miami comes away with the advantage. Not even the Lakers can argue this right now. You can beat 199 of 200 teams, if you can't beat that one, does that one not have the advantage? I think so. Especially over the span of more than one game.
