Holy fuck. Do teams have no faith their star will stay? WTF is the point in getting high draft picks if they're just going to bolt for a city of their choosing? I don't like where this NBA is headed.

What a stupid move by New Jersey. Making a splash just to say they did. Their owner is a fucking moron.

I disagree. This is awesome mid-to-longterm move for the Nets. Think about it, you can build a nice team around D. Will, and it gives them a much better chance to get better pieces. This forces Dwight Howard to take a long look at the Nets, with D.Will and Brook Lopez already there. If they can add a supplementary piece, like a Danny Granger, they could be right there.

To the stars credit, they gave them 6-7 years of great basketball. So, I guess if you draft a super-star you got 6 years to build a powerhouse or they leave.

Hopefully, in the new collective bargaining agreement, they come up with some type of franchise tag.

wow deron williams goes to the nets? did see that coming. jazz get devin harris and derrick favors plus draft pick. now the nets will try to get howard in the offseason. if carmelo had just waited till offseason he could be a knick and the strong bench would still have been there. now they are good but no contender.

Melo wasn't going to wait till the offseason to sign w/ NY. because of the new CBA & a very possible NBA lockout next year. Melo Clearly said in the Knicks press confress yesterday that if Denver & NY couldn't make the trade he would of signed w/ Denver.

Knicks still have some decent bench players they just need to get bigger.

Am I the only one troubled by these guys not talking about WINNING??? This notion that they, or anyone else, is gonna out-talent their way to success is garbage. It seems like their just waiting on another guy (CP3) to really get this going. These guys don't rebound or play D, but everyone is excited like together they're gonna cheat the game. Meanwhile, more complete teams who do rebound and play D are dominating. Nobody yet has figured out how to take down the Spurs or the Celtics except...

THE BULLS!!!!!

They're the only team to have beaten the Heat, Celtics, Magic, Spurs, Lakers, Thunder, and Mavs.

And the Raptors beat the Bulls! Therefore vicariously the Raptors are the only team to have beaten the Heat, Celtics, Magic, Spurs, Lakers, Thunder, and Mavs...

Oh, if only...

I think the Bulls are good, but I don't think there as good as everyone thinks they are.

There's gonna be a beat down in Chicago tonight! :D :flame:

Ummmm... they're third in the East... so it's a little more than what everybody thinks.

Are you saying they're not as good as their record shows, or not as good as all of the top teams (including your Heat) in whom they've beaten this season? As far as the game tonight... we'll see.

This is why they play the game.

Cowherd talks about the parity in the NBA. About how there are only a handful of "dog" teams. The fact is that the NBA has a pretty select group of devoted viewers--not like college sports or the NFL. I have to wonder if this continued "New York Yankeefication" of signing star players to a few teams ala the Knicks, Lakers and Heat, will have an impact on that select group--as in a thinning down.

Holy trades today. You'd think it was the NHL.

Best move in my opinion is OKC getting Beast Perkins and Nate Robinson for Krstic and Green.

Worst move is Cavs trading Mo Williams and Moon for Baron Davis. Davis is known for mailing it in. Does anybody think he'll give a shit in Cleveland? Lol. On the other hand, this is a great move for the Clippers. Mo Williams gets another Phenom to play with too.

WTF trade goes to Suns sending Goran Dragic and a 1st rounder to Houston for Aaron Brooks. It would make sense if they did the league a favour and traded Nash but they didn't. Get rid of your future starting PG and a 1st for another PG who's fallen off the edge of the world. ????? Brooks is a solid PG, no doubt. But solid enough for The Dragon AND a 1st?!?!? WTF!?!

Didn't quite happen that way, did it...

yeah, yeah. Congrats though. :hatsoff:

I still don't think Chicago was that great... Bosh was just that bad. I mean, 1-18?

The bigger issue for the Heat is their depth. After Wade, Lebron, and Bosh, the Heat are pretty thin. And it doesn't help that Mike Miller is out. Plus, Zydrunas Ilgauskas didn't even play.

I really don't know what to make of this Heat team at this point, but they better get their shit together by playoff time.

I'll tell you, this Chris Bosh pick up is not really working. He simply does not give the Heat what they need. He is a good player, don't get me wrong, but he doesn't fit Miami. At his price, imagine how much more complete this team could've been. They could've added Boozer and still have had 30+ million left.

I was watching the game with 3 other Heats fans, and every time Boozer scored we just shook our heads.

If Miami could have an off-season do-over, they would have certainly signed Boozer. But it looks like we're stuck with this highly paid role-player.

As much fun as it is making fun of the black Ru Paul, Wade/Bosh and Lebron/Bosh are both better then Wade/Lebron as far as +/- goes.
