mystery of invention

nowadays everybody know that if you smoke some weed, you'll get high. but I wonder how had the people came to that conclusion?

I mean... that there are a lot of plants in the vegetable kingdom, a lot of grass, bushes.. but somehow weed was to be chosen to make a joint exactly from it! why?! :flame:

I wonder if there was a guy (or even a displaced community), many centuries ago, who spent many years of his life smoking different types of plants, till one day he got high? the first selectors. what a long voyage it was and how much attempt were taken! and in general, what made him (or them) to believe that it was possible to got high - just in theory, if no one knew about ganja features at that time?... and the definition of 'getting high' itself was not invented yet. what was motivation for smoking of particulary that stuff? the first smoker in the world: how (and why?) had he made his discovery? have you ever thought about it?!

and the second question, if the discovery of the weed was just a matter of case: how do you think if there were people in the world, after that discovery, who tried to find any new types of magic grass by smoking other plants? because simple logic supposes - until you tried them all - how can you be sure, that the rest won't give you any similar or other magic effects? if there were people on the planet Earth who smoked hoary plantain, juniper, dill, celery and so on, waiting for some extra feelings? how many of them had survived and how many were dead... and... damn, how hard it was to smoke everything just for the sake of the future generations!
