Movies that you like that most people hate

I don't really know the general consensus on here regarding the Pink Panther films with Peter Sellers, but while most of my friends hate them, I adore them.

Oh and also Condorman with Michael Crawford.

I love the Pink Panther films and Condorman is a cool movie too!

most people hate Contact?

i don't think so:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118884/
7.3/10 (57,499 votes) :dunno:

please choose more carefully, guys.

I don't think that I said that most people hated Contact,I just said that I liked it.I really don't know if the general consensus was dislike for this movie but if I remember correctly,it got luke warm reviews from critics when it was released.

And by the way,you should never rely on what people on IMDB have to say.

Are you kidding me!?

Have you even read any of the posts on the message boards? If you have then you wouldn't even have to ask,and besides all that,it's pretty well known that there are studio moles and rabid fans that try to boost up movies (new ones mostly) just to get people more interested in going out to the theater to see them.

if you think that 57,499 votes represents what most people think about a movie that came out before IMDB was even around then go ahead and keep using that as your gauge. The movie Lost Highway got a 7.5/10 but only 31,406 people voted for it,but most of the people that I know think that it's complete garbage(which it is).

Taking a small portion of "sometimes" rabid fans as a meter to gauge the popularity and likability of a movie isn't very reliable, imo.

Also take a look at the Box office returns.I don't think that Contact was a roaring success.$20 million dollars and the number 2 spot in it's opening weekend in mid July 97 doesn't = summer blockbuster.

Also, here is a good site that I just found, that has all of the box office totals of,I guess, every movie that's been release in theaters, plus other stuff like DVD sales and other goodies.

There's something about "The Green Berets." Maybe it's so awful it becomes good. I don't know. But if I'm channel surfing and I see that's on, I'm watching it.
