no its not. sound the word out. an s has a completely different sound than z does.

Following your rule, if it was correct to spell analyze like so, then it would be derived from analyziz and analuze. But thanks, you've just proved my point that you make it up as you go along, with no thought as to etymological rules, just because you think it looks better with a z in it. If it was just about how it sounded then it'd be spelled "loze" instead of "lose", wouldn't it? Give me strength.
