Most Beautiful City

Considering that the membership here comes from all over the globe, I thought it might be interesting to ask, "What's the most beautiful city you've ever visited?" Note: I said visited, therefore you can't pick your own city.

bootywatcher

I'm here to enquire about your spooons...
Its a toss-up.

Madisonville, Tennessee
Guntersville, Alabama
Navasota, Texas

Navasota is pretty small. It would probably be categorized as a town.

Europe:

Prague/Praha
Paris
London
Florence/Firenze
Rome/Roma
Bruges/Brugge
Brussels/Bruxelles/Brussel
Berlin
Amsterdam
Antwerp/Antwerpen
Vienna/Wien
Rheims
Salsbury

North America:

Chicago
Atlanta
Colorado Springs
West Palm Beach
Tampa/St. Petersburg
Toronto
Montreal
Ottawa

I know I cheated by listing way more than one, but each city is the most beautiful in its own way. :hatsoff: :nanner:

Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Beauty of the ocean and mountains all in one.

Isn't that the landscape???

At most that would be the location and placement of the city.......

Wouldn't the city be the buildings (architecture...), squares, streets, shops, parks.........and location as a part of the total....?

FWIW

Florence/Firenze, Salzburg, Kyoto.... and a lot more - but only cities with a history (at least more than 300 or so years), 'cuz IMO history lends charm, continuity, class and consistency....;)

I love Perth, only 175 years old and i am involved in the city planning side of things so i am glad i can help plan for the Future. :)

I love europe and New Zealand.

2 of my favourite cities would have to be Canberra and Washington DC because of the history, town planning aspect (design etc) federal buildings and monuments and the people :)

although Canberra has a long way to go as it is 90 years old :)

My hometown of Honolulu Hawaii.....So many changes in landscape. City, mountians, and Ocean everywhere you look.

The south of France is also pretty breath taking.

I dunno know ab out most beautiful but the city/town I live in has been voted the best city to live in the last 5 years in a row...

Can't say there are many urban cities in England that are beautiful. Manchester, Leeds, London, Liverpool and Newcastle are good places for commerce, shopping, and nightlife but definitely not beauty. If you want beauty, then head for the national parks.

The most beautiful cities i have visited are Valencia and Paris, but definitely not the best. The best would have to be Las Vegas.

How can you compare the hotel landscape of Honolulu, (shit, they build hotels on top of hotels there) to the beauty of the entire island of Maui. Honolulu is like Myrtle Beach, only a helluva a lot more of an expensive plane ticket.

Sedona AZ, is a really cool town, nice place to visit but I don't think I could live there.

Hey folks we have the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Come visit. If you come at the right time, you can watch the Cavs, Browns, or Indians lose.

Everyone should visit Key West at some point in their life. The southern most city in the USA.

That does'nt mean anything though, the city i live in was voted the worst place to live in England by a load of people who live down south and know nothing about Hull, though when they come up here and visit they realise it's a vibrant and developing city with tonnes of money been spent on it and alot of new buildings, it's also as the city is isolated and has a reputation for being rough, all citys have their rough areas (ie: estates like chapel town in Leeds), Sutty i dont know how you can say parts of Britain are'nt beautiful what about the peak district or the moors etc? even some citys in England have beautiful areas like Salford quays in Manchester.

In my post I said there aren't many URBAN cities that are beautiful. And I did say if you wanted beauty then you should head for the national parks, which are the Peaks, Dales and Lakes etc.

Best city to live includes lowest crime rates, city taxes, best commerce opportunities, and good schools not just how beautiful the landscape and buildings happen to be. The city is littered with beautiful parks and nicely kept yards but that's just a small part of the appeal.
