Surprised that this hasn't been mentioned yet: Diablo 2.

I was so addicted that I was playing for 5-6 hours on a free day...three years after I bought the game!

I ended up throwing it into the lake behind my house.


Believe it or not, my second most addictive game is online chess. Hard to explain the addiction unless you really try to learn how to play.
