MOSS back to the vikings? yay or nay?

Obviously alot of people care.

Go watch soccer!!
....is it soccer season? (i mean football for you)
I have no idea

Very few FOOTBALL matches are played at 12:10am on a wednesday night/thursday morning. I find the title of this thread both misleading and offensive, the Vikings did untold damage to the UK with all their raping and pillaging. We had almost forgiven L3ggy and his people until they sent Ulrika Jonsson over to us, now the hatred is deeper than ever and the damage left beyond repair.

What are you talking about? 18th in what? 05 and 06 seasons with Oakland are irrelevant.

2007: 98 receptions 1493 yards 23 freaking touchdowns. EPIC SEASON
2008: 69 receptions 1008 yards 11 touchdowns - without Tom Brady for the first quarter of the season.
2009: 83 receptions 1264 yards 13 touchdowns.

The guys numbers are consistent, and hes right where he should be. He is definitely going to be better than average for the Vikings, if Favre can get him the ball.

My apologies, I should have stated what I was citing. I'm talking about Defense-adjusted Yards Above Replacement (DYAR). He was 5th last year, and he was 18th the year before. Just casually looking at his historical DYAR, his value seems to be proportional to the DYAR of his QB, which for a receiver, is not a good sign.

Those statistics you've mentioned are pretty much irrelevant, as they fail to address the quality of his QB, the situations he's been in, as well as the efficiency of the offense as a whole.

He's looking like he'll be roughly league average this season, which isn't to say he's not valuable, as especially the past 3 years, league average production from the WR position has been extremely valuable.

Except for Brady, Belichick's offense has never included superstars until Moss so I think they'll be just fine....at least I sure hope so since I just picked up Brandon Tate (Moss' replacement in NE) off the waiver wire in my fantasy league. :D

That might be true, but before Moss New England never had a great offense. Perception changed after the 2007 season and they began to be thought of as a charged up offense that was one of the better ones in the league but before that they were an offense a little better than average that seemed to overachieve a lot. Back then they also had a lot better defense that they don't have anymore. In a lot of ways the Patriots need their offense to win now like they didn't in the past and Moss leaving will affect that.

On the other hand Moss isn't exactly young anymore and will be in his mid thirties. He seems to have the skill set to age well, but still it's a big roll of the dice how he will age. He wasn't going to get paid either way in New England so I can see why they would trade him, and even if he's changed in the past an unhappy Moss had a tendency of intentionally tanking and some might not want to take that risk.

He won't be there long. He won't resign when Favre retires. He'll sign with the Jets after they cut Braylon Edwards next summer.

Sanchez hasn't exactly shown enough to make people want to attach themselves to him for what may be the rest of their careers either in a case like Moss'.

I kind of like it even though I hate the Vikings and think Moss is a worthless pile of crap (with tons of talent). It will be cool to see a quarterback with an actual arm throwing to him. And hopefully they make it to the superbowl and lose.
