I believe its been 17 years.
Yeah...how's Joe Nathan doing?
I have to say I watched him blow a lot of saves last year, despite him leading the league in saves. He actually is overrated. Be that as it may, I wonder who will fill that role now.
By the stats he's second only behind Rivera as a closer in the past few years. Still, an elite closer is easier to replace than a top of the line starter.
Sadly, the World Series this year will feature the Cardinals (fuck 'em) and the Evil Empire I'll be surprised if the Cubbies win 60 games. :sad face:
With Joe Nathan most likely out for the season, what hapenn's to the closer's role?I'm hearing that Rauch or Guerrier most likely will fill the role or maybe even Liriano
Or they pick up someone on the market. If only we could get a healthy Liriano to play closer. The only thing Nathan throws is heat, so apparently (I hear) he was trying to throw breaking stuff hence why he busted up his arm. The talk now is that Rausch will pick up for closer.
Oh God. When was the last season they were above .500?
The New York Mets will win the World Series!
This year we will not implode! This year we will have a healthy team! This year we will not rely on our newest major acquisition (who just so happens to be Jason Bay) and we will play as a team! This year Oliver Perez will not have a meltdown in the first three innings! This year we will win the World Series!
However if none of the above pans out, then this year we will fire Omar Minaya!
I'm a White Sox fan and loved Joe Nathan, he's a heck of a closer. However, I don't see how the Twins will be a factor this year with Nathan out and especially now that they don't play at that damn Metrodome.
The Montreal Expos are the best damn i miss baseball in montreal
Amen to that.
Too bad only 2,500 people were showing up to games before they left.
