The problem is the bloated payrolls of the large market teams. The good teams/bad teams in certain places aren't going to help anybody or even up the play until the money game is evened up, and let's face it - that will NEVER happen. People will watch and still come to the ballpark whether their team is in first or last. Leave it all alone and make do.

That is an absurd idea. I would rather there be a salary cap.

If it works then only try to make small improvements every year and see if that works rather than trying to change it completely.
