MLB 10: The Show

Wow just read the review on gameinformer.......sounds even more insane this year and it got a 9.5 When it comes to sports games, 9's in a review are verrrry rare. The dev is not to blame either, it takes alot of physics handling etc to do sports.

That said, a 9.5 for a baseball game is off the charts. This game has gotta be really special.

Honestly, this is the type of game that makes me think Sony is headed in the right direction. The game looks amazing, and I might actually go out and get a new PS3 for myself just to play that.

I think The Show is the best most polished sports game out there. The Maddens and NBA games dont hold a candle to just how good a job The Show does. Little things like fan animations, the player traits, they improve what works and upgrade whats lacking. Always top notch. If EA and 2K were to do that as popular as the major sports games are people wont be talking how NFL 2K5 was the best football game ever or NBA Live 03 was the best basketball game ever.

Wasn't Sony headed in the right direction after the release of the Playstation 2 around 10 years ago?:dunno:? Anyways, I want this game but I'm still caught up in NHL10 for my sports fix, so I'll hold off....

why do they never have Ebbetts Field as part of the historic stadiums?

I didn't mean to imply they were lost in their direction. I chose my words poorly, and merely meant to say that this is really indicative of the number of things Sony had brought to the baseball genre of gaming.

Actually I'm making the transition from the ps2 version and I suck badly at this game.

does anyone know if SONY does roster updates to get current with MLB today or are all the roster updates done by users and they upload them to the MLB online home?
i want to get it updated by i dont want it by some schmuck in bumfuck idaho who guesses at the rating for new players.

When you go online with MLB 10 the show , you can always download updated rosters. They update them almost every week.

yea but are they from SONY or just some random who wants to do his own rosters? i saw alot of rosters listed like

indians updated kelly010
top 50 prospects dean1984

it was like anyone who had the game did the rosters or THEIR rosters then uploaded them for others ,but, i want exact ones that sony has done.
do you know where to find that? there was like 300+ pages of rosters.

^^^Sony has their own "official" rosters. Usually when you log online you are greeted by roster changes and other news relating to the game. In the lobby choose to Save Live Roster and you get the real rosters.
