Mixed Martial Arts

OMG..........Kimbo Slice TKO'd in 14 sec
I am glad it was on network TV cause if I had of paid for Pay Per View I probably would of put my foot thru my TV

i stopped recording after i found out about shamrock being replaced.
then saw it on ESPN bottom line last night.watched it this morning as the main article on Yahoo. everyone is calling it a fixed fight!??
how can it be fixed i never understand the stupidity of some people

Let's go Bisping, Vera, Soko!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Silva vs. Cote next week too

I'd like to see Chris Leben knock Bisping's block off. It's funny, Leben used to be my most disliked fighter. Now he's one of my favorites to watch. He just comes at you (even if you're Anderson Silva lol) and the harder you hit him, the harder he hits back. We know he takes a helluva punch too, Bisping's chin hasn't really been tested yet IMO. Either Leben by late stoppage or Bisping by decision, hopefully Leben.

Yeah...I do not see Bisping trading hits with Leben. Bisping will get KO'ed.

So Bisping took the decision. I don't necessarily disagree with it, but I can't help but think what if Leben had the same game plan as Bisping? Would of been a pretty awful fight. Bisping had a bit of the Kalib Starnes syndrome goin on. If there's one thing I can't stand its fighters who come into a fight planning on winning a decision. That's not what mma is about.

i don't agree with Starnes syndrome. starnes ran away the whole match. bisping (although i wanted leben to blast him). fought a precise fight "STICK AND MOVE" step in jab, jab, left, step back....step in jab, jab, leg kick, step back.
and repeat. FORRest did the same in his fight before he fought Rampage and nobody is giving him shit for that. forrest was punch, punch, move, counter, punch, punch, move, counter.
LEBEN just wanted to knock bisping out with the left and he completely wasted any chance at winning. cause he didn't try anything else.
i understand the planning on a decision, but the main goal is to not get hit and bisping did that.and pretty much had open reign on Leben's face

Chris Leben blocks punches with his face. He doesn't care about his opponent scoring points. When he fights, he fights to finish and that's what everyone wants to see right? So Bisping managed to get past the 185 div. gatekeeper, I think he'd have all kinds of trouble with some of the division's higher-ups like Jason MacDonald, Thales Leites or Marquardt. But no way is the UFC gonna let him fight those guys, he'll be protected by the UFC.

Now Paul Kelly and Paul Taylor, those are a couple of Brits who fuckin come to throw down. Goddamn those guys like to scrap. All the respect in the world to those 2.

im not saying that its a good or bad thing. i like KO's as much as the next guy. i just think if you out smart your opponnent by hitting and not getting hit then you are better.
i also don't think bisping could last with those guys you listed...but weirder things have happened in the MMA world right?

Looks like I was wrong about the UFC giving Bisping the easy road. Apparently he's gonna coach the next season of TUF against, and fight, the winner of Henderson/Franklin.

I just think the whole point of mma is to finish the fight. That's the mandate. In some places, at least it used to be, nobody gets finished = draw. Fighting 'not to lose' is so lame. That's why Tim Sylvia has so many fans. It's a fight, lay it on the line.

You fight to win and if sticking and moving is the way to win then it is good tactics.
Might not be exciting to watch but if it's effective then it is a good game plan.

im surprised nobody posted anything here yet.
ELITE XC folds due to 55 million dollars in loses over the past 2 years.
i guess all their fighters are out of jobs....sorry kimbo.
not everyone knows how to efficiently run a company like UFC.
dana said it on Opie and Anthony the last time he was on. all these guys buy small MMA companies and think they are going to make it big. not realizing the work that goes into it just to stay afloat.

i'm watching the SPIKE replay of the "junie" episodes of TUF..
i fucking hate him. Dana gave him another chance by NOT tossing him after the drinking episode. then the cage jump because his drinking buddy got fucking choked the fuck out...he still was in the house...
but then he says sitting aroumd the pool.. "you better hope i don't lose cause you'll have to deal with me being drunk everynight"
DID HE NOT LEARN HIS LESSON WHEN DANA CAME TO THE HOUSE AND HANDED HIM ON A SILVER PLATTER HIS CHANCE TO STAY ON THE SHOW AND IN THE HOUSE???

nobody posts here anymore?
just got home from my friends house for the UFC 90 PPV
not a great show at all.
the co-main event tiago alves v josh koscheck went the exact way i didn't want it to. but alves proved he deserves a title shot. he took it to Kos all 3 rounds relentlessly. and got a unanimous decision.
anyone who saw the show did you notice the refs in both the maynard fight and the alves-kos fight keep telling the guys "let's go" or "c'mon guys work"?
even Rogan was getting mad. the fighters WERE working you can't tell guys to "c'mon work" after they had an exchange, then went to the mat and counter each other a bit just to make it back to their feet to hit a stalemate for a few seconds ......and the ref says "lets work guys c'mon". The need to get refs who know MMA not these local ham-n-eggers.
Junior really blasted Werdum.
the main event...what can you do when a guy gets injured...???
oh you can boo like every single UFC LIVE crowd does! shut the fuck up!
i hate it when they boo at 2 fighters sizeing each other up for 30-40 seconds.
i am sooooo glad i watch at home or a friends house because i would really hate to be at a live show and have my night ruined by these jackass fans who boo every 45 seconds.
silva looked like he was stalking Cote....stalking and waiting for that 1 freakin spot to get him...but cote's knee gave out. it's tough luck and it does suck but don't boo the guy. and both Silva and Cote SHOULDN'T have to apologize in their post fight interview..
refs and fans both suck for this show.
and Rogan is growing his beard in Memoriam of Evan Tanner. him and a few of the other fighters are all doing it for like 2 weeks or so. RIP evan.

Respect to Cote. He didn't get blasted out in 30 sec. like most people thought he would.
agree...it was good that it lasted into the 3rd. everyone either wants (everyone=live crowd) a quick KO or a title change...Nothing in between. it's either one or the other NO middle ground

why does silva want to retire when his contract is up?

A lot of people think he really wants to fight Roy Jones Jr. Also talking retirement when you're still on top is one of the oldest tricks in the book for pro athletes wanting to cash in at contract time. Or maybe he really wants to retire, say he wins his next 5 fights like he's basically expected to and he goes out with the greatest run in UFC history.

It's not a trick and it has nothing to do with RJJ. He has always said he wants to retire when he turns 35. He's like 17 months from that. His manager has said he's going to finish out his UFC contract and retire.

There's no one left at 185 for him to fight unless the UFC gets hold of Robbie Lawler. He needs to just take big money fights at 205 against big names.
