Mummy's sister is the word!
I had a wry smile today, knowing it was what she wanted.
I had a mad great Aunt, one of a kind. She travelled the world and paid her way, the Orient Express etc . My Mother always insisted I had to kiss her or I'd feel the hairbrush on my backside. She was a very glamorous, ageless woman a real head turner to men of any age, she bloody well knew it.
Unfortunately, she passed away last year, shortly after I had visited her at Chamonix. All her family have been arguing over the will. Doesn't money bring out the worst in people? The good old girl got the last laugh on her prim and proper potential beneficiaries though. It seems she was as particular as myself and didn't take kindly to bottom feeders. She once remarked that my facial expressions were priceless, I rewarded her with a scowl!
I always thought she should have blown her money all on herself but it seems she appreciated my sense of humour, leaving a a professional career to further my, how can I say creative career... she decided I may need subsidising. Her favourite saying was that one must improve international relations, apparently. I remember her overwhelming waft of fine perfume, a very dirty laugh, furs, short hemlines, a string of multi-lingual 'uncles' arriving in fast cars who never once borrowed a power drill to my knowledge. Anyway, it seems she was successful and racy in her day, amassing a small fortune of which she has left me a quite a tidy sum, with the proviso it must be blown in a most ladylike manner.
I guess what she meant is open to interpretation, so I am going to Europe as often as I can for the foreseeable future, starting now, bye.
Kisses
